That was harder than I thought
I had to go to Buy Buy Baby today to pick up some things for a "sprinkle" for one of my managers. Yes, I'm organizing it and collected the money and shopped.
Of course, who else would do it?
I was fine looking through cute little boy stuff and BAM!!
Hit me like a ton of bricks..two grandmas to be with registry guns and their pregnant daughters..
People buying cribs, gliders, wrapping huge gifts..
..the cutest little socks that made me smile only 5 minutes ago, made me cry.
25 minutes and three cries later, I left with my stuff.
I will say that's some store though and I only saw a quarter of it.

 I am so sorry you had to go through that! 
But yea, that store is really something. DH and I walked around there twice. Don't ask. I think a part of me enjoys the self inflicted abuse!

It was like having to hold my breath while I was in there.
Just get in and out I kept telling myself.
It was a struggle between wanting to look at everything and wanting to get the heck out.

Oh boy...I avoid those stores if I can.
Actually, it was my youngest nieces birthday (can't believe she's 4 already...and I wont start with how I was hoping my kid(s) would be close in age with her, not happening now) this weekend and I went into Toys-r-us and saw the baby section and basically blocked it out of my head. I could see easily getting sucked into it and knew I'd be in trouble. And of course I waited till the last possible second to buy her gift, so in a way, it got me out of there faster. More power to you...not sure I would volunteer to buy the group gift at this point.

I agree with this, although i usually am a "pleaser", i have gotten really good at saying "NO". It's ok to put your feelings first and to be a lil selfish

I know exactly how you feel. I also have a babyshower that I'm attending at the end of April. I keep on procrastinating and find myself NOT wanting to step into Babies R Us. Even seeing pregnant women on the streets with their cute little bellies or moms pushing around their young infants hits me really hard.
We have to stay strong and positive. Our time will come. When it does, we should all get together and push our lil angels around and have a GTG!

It's my boss and no one was volunteering. His wife is going any day though so I procrastinated long enough.
I'm hoping she goes before Thursday so I can get a repreive but I think I got through the hard part.
When I had my failed IVF cycle last month there was a baby shower in my place for 5 women here who were pregnant. I declined that one for sure.

i'm sorry Blu, i know where you are coming from.. I work for a publisher and lately they have been putting aside pregnancy and parenting books for me. My failed ivf cycle has me hiding the books in a cabinet.
