HSG: Did you bring someone to take you home?

I'm going for the HSG procedure on Wednesday. Should I bring someone with me? As of right now, DH cannot come due to work. Chat Icon

My mom came w/ me----thank god! I got really dizzy and they wouldn't have let me drive home. (I know that many people are totally fine after though.)

I brought DH. They say some people will get a little faint/dizzy from the test. Not many but some people do.

DH insisted on coming with me and he was off from work anyway, so he did come but I would have been fine on my own.

Re: HSG: Did you bring someone to take you home?

I had a lot of pain after my HSG procedure.

It started maybe 15 minutes after the procedure was done (just as I was walking out of the hospital).

I did not have any blockages, which I heard can be painful.

I could not have driven home. I have decently high pain tolerance. There are a few others beside me that did not have a good time.

The good news is, the pain only lasted 1 hour.

Re: HSG: Did you bring someone to take you home?

I went alone. I did have a blockage and was in a ton of pain, but the pain was over rather quick (less than 10 minutes) and I was able to drive back to work when I was done.

I went alone and I was fine. I had some cramping later on, but nothing that I couldn't manage to get home with.

Re: HSG: Did you bring someone to take you home?

Dh came with me as well, I wanted him there just for the support, I did get a little dizzy during the procedure, once it was done, they let me lay there for a while then brought me water. I felt fine after and would have been able to drive at that point.

Obviously you won't know how you will react, so the best thing is to bring someone, do you have someone close that can take you? mom, sister, good friend?

I went alone, but I have 3 family members that work there, so they would have taken care of me if I needed it.

Same thing with me except my pain lasted more than an hour. My DH HAD to work so my friend took me and thank God she did. There was no way I could have driven. They also found a very large polyup, which may have contributed to the pain.
