Peapod delivery question?

I have never had food delivered.

How are the sales at Pedpod?

What is the delivery fee?

Do you feel you save as much, more or less money as going to the store?

Any info would be helpful--pros and cons TIA Chat Icon

Re: Peapod delivery question?

i love peapod. they have a specials section, so i check that first then go and do the aisles or my list. its so convenient and i definitely feel i do better this way. i always feel rushed in the store so i dont price shop much. this way i get more value plus i dont have to carry all the heavy items!!

The delivery fee is $9.95.

You can shop off the circular so you get the in store savings - I think they take coupons but I am not sure how it works. I also find savings in that I don't impulse shop and I don't end up with duplicates of something I already have in the pantry/fridge.

Re: Peapod delivery question?

I just started doing it and I love it. I ordered over $100 so delivery was $6.95 but I had a $15 off coupon so that paid for the shipping and then some. The next 4 orders I get $5 off each order too so that will just about pay for shipping.

The sales are ok.

I am definatley spending less. I don't buy all those things that I don't need. I have time to think about what I'm going to make that week and only buy those things. It's really made a difference.

How are the sales at Pedpod? They are the same as in the S&S circular

What is the delivery fee? $9.95 under $100, $6.95 over $100. But I was able to find coupons for awhile to cover the delivery fees, love google! As far as the fee offsetting the savings-unless you go to the store and stick STRICTLY to your list, I think you buy more than $10 in impulse buys-plus gas and time.

Do you feel you save as much, more or less money as going to the store?

Def save more. No impulse buys, I can shop directly from the Sales list. I can also spend time googling coupons for items I buy-which they double (under $1.00)

I am not always crazy about the produce they send me, so lately I have been holding off on buying. But that may be b/c of the time of year. Other than that I have had no problems. Anytime something is wrong (broken egg, forgotten item) I call and get a credit, no problems.

Re: Peapod delivery question?

After I placed my first order, they emailed me and snail mailed me coupons for $5 off your order.

Also, I try to pick the special delivery times where you get $1 or $2 off your order.

I have found that I spend wayyyy less and its easier to price compare.

Re: Peapod delivery question?

I love it too and got $5 off my order this week so I only spent $5 to have it delivered (plus tip). Much less than I would spend if I went to the store (especially if I took my dh and/or kids-lol!!).

Re: Peapod delivery question?

I started doing Peapod when DS was first born. I actually got a coupon in one of those value packs for 60 days of free delivery. I love it and still use it a lot. To me, it is worth 6.95 instead of wasting a weekend at the supermarket.

I believe the code was FREEDELIVERY but this was back in June so it may not work anymore.

The also have a VIP club lol...with Peapod that gets you discounted delivery times, free items, coupons, etc.

Re: Peapod delivery question?

I love using Peapod. Even though I think the prices may be a little higher than shopping in the store, I always spend less because I am not picking things up on impulse.

Re: Peapod delivery question?

I dislike their delivery fees. See, FreshDirect is $5.95 on ANY order over $30. But Peapod is $9.95 for under 100 and 6.95 over 100.

BUT, I totally shop the sales circular, use coupons AND try to take advantage of 2 sales circulars by starting an order before Thursday and having the delivery for AFTER Thursday since that is when their circulars change.

I think you can get that cut down though as I just did this weekend as I saved $5 with a special code. Even at $9.95, I find it a good deal as I would probably spend that money if I was roaming around the supermarket. I would definately spend that and more if I took the rest of my bunch with me-lol!!

Re: Peapod delivery question?

I love using peapod. DH & I don't go food shopping anymore unless it's to pick up something quick like milk.
The delivery fees aren't that bad and I spend ALOT less...
DH & I used to spend over $150 every week for 2 of us, now with peapod I spend $100 every two weeks.
