Need advice..wwyd- sorry long
so a bit of history, this cycle I was given clomid had sono yesterday & looked like I was going to O but no smiley, given shot & scheduled for IUI today and Sunday. Last night got a smiley.
So had a different RE than mine do the proc and I immediately felt like she was there to "do the job" and leave. I asked her if she could tell me about the egg(s). and she told me there was only ONE!! What!?! I do O on my own and took clomid for what then? The whole point was to have more eggs to fert. and then she tells me that I havent O'd yet and thinks I should not come back for the 2nd IUI. "It really wouldnt make a difference". Of course she said we could BD in place. Since she is not my primary I question her, since my Doc last time and this time said IUI 2 days in a row. And, The receptionist tells me its gonna be busy tomorrow so they changed the hours. My first thought was the RE was trying to lighten the pt load.
WWYD?? would you go for 2nd IUI Sorry so long

This part confuses me. Is she saying she thinks today will "cover" you and tomorrow just isn't necessary? I'm not really sure what advice to give you. It's a tough situation. Can I ask which RE you use?

she thinks todays IUI was good enough and that doing another IUI will not up my chances for a BFP. Dr Chu from NSUH

I would follow the orders of your primary doc and go back for the 2nd IUI.

Oy, I had a funny feeling that's who you were talking about.
I think I'd go in for the 2nd one tomorrow - is that even a possibility since she said you shouldn't??

Re: Need advice..wwyd- sorry long
Sorry, I have a different opinion.
If you are otherwise ovulating fine... and otherwise normal, you "failed" this round of Clomid.
You are right to think that you should have more than 1 follie, if you are normally getting 1 mature follie. They will, next cycle, increase your Clomid dose. They'll do IUI because it'll still increase your chance slightly.
Of course, your doctor isn't going to work every weekend. No good practice will have this (who would sign up to work every day, no days off? Not me!). I'd shoot him/her an email with your concerns...
I'm sure it's practioner preference, but I was always told that 1 IUI with high sperm count properly timed was enough. Those puppies live for days.
Good luck!

How did you know who I was talking about? I have heard about her and know some people like her and others dont. I left with more questions than I went in with. If the Clomid cycle failed then dont you think she should have told me that? urghhh

Re: Need advice..wwyd- sorry long
I was an unmedicated IUI patient at NSUH. I got PG twice before Abby (2 m/c's) and all three times, I had back to back IUIs. Id go back. This is a popular time for vacations. When Dr. Chu did IUIs for us, she had been covering for 2 doctors that were on vacation as well as covering her own patients. IT will get crazy there though it is not an excuse. She herself did 4 IUIs in one week for me. Yep. 4. I had stubborn follicles.
ETA: If you show up with a sample and go through the trouble of having it washed, they arent going to waste it and tell you to leave. They are going to do the IUI.

Re: Need advice..wwyd- sorry long
You should go back. I would and actually did on my iui's that i hadnt oed yet. She didnt say not to. And yes it does slightly increase your chances. Partly cause the sperm dont have to go thru the CM.
I'm sorry your having a hard time at your re. My opinion. You are spending your money..even if its covered by insurance. Go to a place you feel comfortable.
