Looking at pregnant women in awe

So even though we havent even started ttc yet (next month is the month Chat Icon ) I find myself staring at pregnant women in awe of how they must be feeling. I think about how happy their dh's must be and how exciting it was for them when they got their bfp.

I know all of our times will come. But I just feel so envious of women who are going through it right now, like I want to scream "I want that" lol

I have such an obsessive personality and I am not quite sure how to get a handle on it.

What happens if 5 or so months go by for me and nothing? How am I going to be able to handle the disappointment each month?

I know I am getting ahead of myself (we could get a bfp next month) but thats my obsessive personality for ya lol.

How do you all handle it?

To be honest, not very well...

It really does get harder and harder every month. I wish I could have some positive words of advise but I don't. Just hope you're one of the girls that it happens for right away! But try not to take it so hard if it doesn't. (easier said then done!) Good luck next month!

Agreed!

I also find myself staring at pregnant women and imagining how they must feel. I probabably look like weirdo!

This is our 5th month of trying and while it has been far from easy to deal with the disappointment at each BFN, the hope and possiblity of the next month being "your" month gets you through.

That actually makes a lot of sense. Even though you have disappointment each month, its the kind of thing that can change in a blink of an eye. The possibilty will always be there I guess and that has to make you feel like you have to keep going.

Thanks

That's been my strategy, too. I'm on my 5th cycle TTC, and it's not easy. I literally never expected TTC to be even slightly challenging. (All the women in my family got pg their first month trying or had an "oops." ALL of them). I think that made it harder. Expect the best, but be prepared for it to not work right away.

So what do you do if it takes a few months? I cry, I rant on LIF, and I go for long runs on treadmills, and I throw myself into my job. And then you get over it, and try again.

I know the feeling. I am so happy for them but I want to be pregnant too. My little sister is due on monday with her second child (a girl this time) and I am so happy for her, her husband, and her son. I would for us (me and DH) to start a family of our own.

Barely. I'm the type of person that has to plan every last detail. Everything must be organized. If I don't have control over it I get anxious.

I just keep looking at the calendar and wishing it would fast forward.

Re: Looking at pregnant women in awe

I gotta say.. as disappointing as it is that I came off the pill in November thinking it MIGHT happen soon for us .. and here we are seeing an RE .... what helps me is that I had a feeling we were going to have issues. I was kind of 'prepared' for this, if that makes sense. I am just so relieved my RE believes I WILL get pregnant. I am also relieved that we decided to TTC when we did. The original plan was to go off the pill next summer.. Now, I hope to be pregnant by then! Chat Icon Chat Icon I'm just so glad we didn't put it off and stick to our original plan!!

Even though this process might totally stink, I still consider myself '7 months ahead of the game'

ETA: realized I didn't explain- I assumed I would have issues because I was diagnosed with possible PCOS 10 years ago and turns out that's what I have.... so I sort of had a heads up since I was 15!

It is difficult everything month when AF arrives, but somehow I get through it and move onto the next cycle. I know it will happen and that is what keeps me going.
