Looking for a job while pregnant
I know my odds are low of getting hired for any sort of permanent position if I go into an interview visibly pregnant. But on the off chance someone DOES hire me, would it be likely that I'd be eligible for any sort of maternity leave (even unpaid) after only 4 months?

Probably not. But it would be up to the employer. I found a job and promptly lost it when I was showing more and the excuse used was that I couldn't go into court because I was not admitted in the state I am in.

I think it depends. My friend got a job when she was 6 months along (spanxed herself up) then when she got the offer she disclosed she was pregnant and it turns out she will get 6-8 weeks paid leave!

Depends, most companies have some sort of waiting period before Short Term Disability benefits begin.
You won't be entitled to FMLA leave "by law" but that doesn't mean a company won't allow you to take time off.
Not 100% sure about state short term disability payments, I think you are still eligible for them.

you have to be with a job for 1 year to be protected under FMLA

You will not be covered under FMLA (job protection) however the company itself may have a short term disability plan to pay you while you are out on leave - but that doesn't hold your job.
