Re: does your dog...
no but that must be horrible for you! sometimes dog throw up is so gross & it stains. You can't get mad at them for it either.

Re: does your dog...
it has gotten so bad that we have invested in the spot bot so that i can atleast drop it on the spot and go....
when i was growing up we only fed my parents dog once a day... and while i have no issue feeding twice a day it is really annoying to have to make sure it is before that 12 hour period that is up

Re: does your dog...
i did at his previous vet and they tell me that since he has always been that way it is nothing... it is just frustrating because i cant always get there to feed him in that exact time frame

Re: does your dog...
do you have a dog walker? if so maybe feed him a lunch also. if you don't, maybe you can invest in one of those kong timers where it drops a kong for him. it is pricey but maybe it's worth it to eliminate the vomiting and put you at ease. perhaps you cna find it cheaper on ebay

Re: does your dog...
We had the same problem so we feed him meals twice a day and he gets a snack at 9pm to tide him over till breakfast. It's really not that much work once you get used to it.
Google "empty stomach syndrome". Although our vet suggested we could try Pepcid also, we're not comfortable with pills so we just changed our schedule a little.

Re: does your dog...
This is an ongoing issue with Daisy.
We spoke with the Vet and he sugggested this:
in the AM, give her half a bowl (1/4 cup) in the PM (dinner time), give her the other half of the bowl (1/4 cup)
At bedtime, we give her a treat or some dog food depending on how hungry she appears to be.
While we're at work, we leave 1/8 cup in her bowl. Sometimes she will eat it and some days she won't.
We've been doing it this way since the fall and she's doing much better (knock on wood) and not throwing up.
ETA: We attempted a 1/4 tablet of a pepcid tablet and that made it worse for her.
About 3 months ago, we gave her 1/4 tablet of Tagament and that worked well for her, but we forgot it a couple nights after her treat and she was fine as long as we fed her on schedule the next morning.

Re: does your dog...
There are timers to choose from to feed your dog if you cannot. You might want to check it out.

Re: does your dog...
Why can't you give him a snack at 9 or 10pm? Something that isn't going to make him wired? We give him a banana every night.

Does he eat dry food? What about something like this automatic feeder? http://compare.ebay.com/spid/69446546?fl=310018906665<yp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=vl&sort=PricePlusShippingLowest

We peel it and use all treat and mealtimes for training so we give him a piece at a time when he does commands for us. As for apples, we have a corer because apple seeds are toxic so we only give him the pieces. But apples could give them soft poop so we stick to bananas mostly.

Yes, he gets empty tummy barfies. We are usually around to feed him but I have noticed that if there is a delay, he has gotten better with age.

Re: does your dog...
One of my puggles does this if he doesn't eat at the exact same time everyday. It used to be worse when he was a puppy but he's better with it now as he has gotten older.
