Two tick questions, please help
Do ticks ever look like splinters?
How fast do they move?
How do you kill them?

If the tick is in your dog do not try and burn it off, as you can end up hurting your pet...take a tweezers, grab it as close to the skin as possible and pull it out making sure you get the head of it as well...the bodies hold the blood and sometimes separate when you pull them out...the head can live without the body..those suckers hang on so be prepared to pull hard...i usually try and hold the skin so it hurts my pups a bit less..i live in a tick infested area...HTH!
They usually look like poppy seeds or pimples...once in sucking blood they don't move except wiggle the legs sometimes, when not in the skin yet fairly slow moving.
Oh and to kill them i flush them down the toilet... Image Attachment(s):

ive heard to help get them out, smother them in vaseline. they will back out so they can breath. the one time ava had one, i pulled it out with a tweezer, praying the head would come out intact and it did... i killed it by dumping rubbing alcohol and hairspray on it.
