WOW! Missed all the drama because I was out seeing clients all day. It figures, when I am out all day I miss the interesting threads. 
I personally don't care bout what people think of the name we choose. We both love it and to each their own. I have been told that Grace sounds "stuck up" from some people, but I frankly don't care. I just say with a smile on my face "thanks for your unsolicted opinion, but Grace WILL be her name". The usual reaction is  "I didn't mean to offend you...yadda yadda yadda".
I sympathize with others ingorance usually, but when I am hormonal....WATCH OUT!

I will never ever make a comment about the name another person chooses. All the comments I heard from people when I was pregnant went beyond rude. This is from family and friends. When I chose Damien I got comments like "That is the devil"  I wanted to smack people. Plus now that is his name and I will always remember the comments they made.

I actually know a Henrik! Everyone calls him Henry though!

Me too...especially when the you add III behind someone's name. Forget it, you're toast.
I know someone who named her new baby Anna, which I think is so pretty. Otherswise, I'd never interfere with someone's idea unless they were going to call the kid something funky like Budwiser; then my face would say it all!

The thing that kills me about all of these unique celebrity names is that they all say how they want their kids to have a chance at a normal life, they didn't ask to live their lives in the spotlight, blah, blah, blah and then they give them a name that will always make them stand out in a room. Seems like you want them to always be the center of attention. JMO.

I really don't see how the names are pretentious. Are some of the names weird and out there, yes but who cares?

Moses is a name from the Bible--how is that pretentious? My prom date's name was Moses Amadeus (one of Mia Farrow's adopted children).

I think these celebs are trying to outdo each other with crazy names these days... i thought rumor, tallulah, and scout were weird but there's one celeb (forgot her name) that named her son "Audio Science"... PUH-LEEZE... Thats not even a name.. its more like a course in College!!! Poor kid...

I love the name madisson for a girl and Connor for a boy...Dh said hes fine with any name except HANS....It might sound funny lol but I really did want to name my first boy Hans. I agree with all of you in terms of...you should be able to name your children whatever you want...as long as its not something that will make other kids laugh at them...I really dont have any examples...Maybe the name Pippy? That would be a laughable name. Since our friend didnt answer us yet about what she meant by pretentious I looked it up myself...a lack of elegance due to pompousness That is what it means. But lol im still confused.
