Updating Electric Boxes
Hi,
My husband and I are house hunting and many of the houses we have seen have only 100amp electric. Does anyone know a ballpark cost for upgrading an electric box from say, 100 amp to 200amp and how much work is involved?
Any help is appreciated!

Re: Updating Electric Boxes
my estimates average to be $2,000 this is if the box on the outside runs up and down on your house (not across)

Re: Updating Electric Boxes
my uncle is an electrician and did it for us for just cost of supplies and it was 1400 but he also did a few other things. so maybe in the 2000's depending on labor charges

Re: Updating Electric Boxes
There was recently a post about this... I will see if I can find it.
Anyway, we upgraded our service, added a mast for the wires outside, and had an exterior outlet and light installed where there were none, and replaced two existing outside lights - all for $2225.

Re: Updating Electric Boxes
Expect to pay about $1500-$2500. Those are the quotes we received. We had it done as part of our CAC installation.
