WE have ELECTRIC!!
Anyone else lose it?
Our lights went out at like 10:30 last night, and just came on a few minutes ago.
Add No heat to that!!

I read that the north shore lost electricity but we're okay here in Smithtown. That is the worst, I'm sorry!

We're in Kings Park, and had electricity all night! Didn't lose it at all.

We are in Lindenhurst.
The worst was it got soo cold in here....and we didnt know what to do with ourselves all morning. They kept saying it would be on last night, we woke up and it was still off , so we just laid in bed waiting all morning....
Can my food go bad?

I told myself that if we lost power for a long time I would put all my perishable stuff in bags and put it in the car (we have racoons, etc. up here so I would not just leave it outside.) Don't know if that would help for next time.
My parents in Levittown lost their power for about 15 minutes; I am up in Putnam and I am surprised that we haven't lost ours yet.

Yikes, I am sorry! From what I understand, if you kept the fridge door closed, your food should be okay but I would check before eating any of it and would prob throw out uncooked chicken, fish, etc.
Hope you warm up today At least it is finally back!

two blocks over had electric, It looked like just our block and the next one. But I was VERY surprised it took almost 14 hours to get it back on.
