Need surgery....ughhh...
I had my water sono on Wednesday. Dr called me today and I have some "thing" growing in my uterus that needs to be removed via surgery. It's a same day procedure but it's done in the hospital and they knock me out.
I'm kind of bummed. I guess it's good that they caught this now and once the "thing" is removed, I may have a better chance of getting pg. Why didn't they do this test 6 months ago?

I had that surgery. It was a piece of cake. I actually left the hospital in about 45 minutes after surgery and went shopping.

Oh, I'm sorry you have to have surgery I hope it all goes well!
did you have an HSG? did it not show up on that?
My RE said I didn't need a water sono because I had a normal HSG, but now you have me worried.

An HSG only tests if the tubes are patent (clear). The water sono tests if there is anything growth in the uterus that shouldn't be there.

Re: Need surgery....ughhh...
I thought the HSG also lets them get a better look at the uterus...its shape, etc. I'm not sure if a polyp or fibroid would show up on it, though.

Re: Need surgery....ughhh...
I had a similar procedure to remove a uterine polyp. Even though you are knocked out, it is a simple procedure and I felt fine afterwards. It is frustrating that it was not found sooner, but my doctor was very clear that it was not definitely preventing me from getting PG.
ETA: My ob-gyn saw mine during an u/s and then it was confirmed when I had my hsg.

Maybe some doctors do, but I know when I had the HSG done the only thing that was looked at was my tubes. Also, this was post ectopic pregnancy, so that may have been why.
