Would you tell someone before or after? x-post
That you changed around the recipe and made it differently?
This is in reference to this post
I'm going to make them tomorrow and know DH will cringe if I tell him what is in them, but then he'll eat them (and hopefully be amazed).

If I didn't normally tell them how I made my recipes, I wouldn't go out of my way to tell them now- as long as they weren't allergic to anything in it.

After. See if they like them and then say "did you notice anything different?". Then tell them.

I won't tell at all.
DH is such a picky eater but its all in his head. One of my fave things to make is chicken cordon bleu. But I like to use prosciutto and fontina cheese. If DH even KNEW that it wasn't ham and swiss, he would probably keel over and die. But he doesn' know and he thinks I make the best chicken cordon bleu ever. Ignorance is bliss in this situation.

Re: Would you tell someone before or after? x-post
I never tell DH anything b/c he INSISTS he does not eat A, B, and C ....... so if he knows I've used those ingredients, he refuses to eat - but he'll order the SAME thing if we're out -
Onions are a prime example - as IF an Italian restaraunt doesn't cook w/ ONIONS?????
