Question about going for a sono
I have a sonogram scheduled for tonight. I *think* I may have had one years ago but I don't remember the procedure.
This is just a check to make sure there are no fibroids or blockages. Do you think it will be internal or external?
TIA

Re: Question about going for a sono
Just my experience.. I went for a sono and it was an internal. Very quick and painless!! It's a very LONG instrument but all of it is not "inserted". they move it around and snap some pics for the dr.
Good Luck!!

Re: Question about going for a sono
Definitely internal.
Have you had an HSG? That would be way to see if there are blockages in your tubes or scar tissue/fibroids/etc in your uterus.

I haven't had that yet. The Dr. did mention that he may do that down the road but this is the first exam on his list.
Thanks, Ladies.

Sounds like a good plan! The internal sonos really aren't that bad... they usually use a ton of lubricant (mine is even warmed haha) and usually it's pretty quick and may have minor discomfort.

Re: Question about going for a sono
I had one yesterday it was internal and external. I had to drink lots of water for the external and then they let me pee and then they did the internal.

Re: Question about going for a sono
Like the others said--probably both -- internal and external. Everytime I go for a sono, they do both.

Thanks. I had the LEEP procedure a few years ago, so I've experienced discomfort, although it's never fun
