venting and I need advice
Here is my story: I am 35, got married at 33. DH and I stopped using protection after wedding, and then started w/opks, temping, etc. exactly 1 year ago. I got pregnant and had a miscarraige in September, 6 months ago
. I went to an RE who did full work up....all my hormone levels are good, eggs are abundant and good quality. They did find a tubal blockage in one of my tubes. On 2/5, I had it successfully unblocked.
I went for a follow up appt. with RE last week. He specifically said that I got pg once before, and need to be a bit more patient since everything is in working order.
Obvously, I am NOT ready to move onto IVF if capable of conceiving, but just feel so desparate. DH is convinced that my worrying and anxiety is contributing to not conceiving, and that we need to try at least a few more months before considering anything too aggressive (ie: IVF). I keep trying to believe that it will happen, but I'm so anxious...I feel that it will never happen for me. I want this so badly( I know everyone else here does too), but I'm starting to get really depressed and hopeless. Anyway, thanks for the vent and wish us all

Re: venting and I need advice
What kind of advice are you looking for? Do you want to try to make a plan of action?
I would agree with your RE that there aren't immediate concerns RIGHT NOW. Your tubes are open and you did conceive on your own before.
I wouldn't even put IVF on your radar yet.
You can definitely try IUIs before that. You can even do an unmedicated IUI... or an IUI with Clomid or injectables. These treatments can be given a few months EACH before moving onto IVF.
Normally the progression would be:
Clomid or Unmedicated IUI Clomid + IUI Injectables + IUI
I would give Clomid + IUI at least 2 months and same for injectables + IUI before considering more aggressive treatment.
Does that sound good? How long did it take for you to conceive before your m/c?

Re: venting and I need advice
So this is your first cycle since your tube was successfully unblocked? I would continue trying for at least 3-4 cycles before pursuing anything if that's the case.

YES...a plan of action is exactly what I'm looking for. It took 14 months to conceive the first time, and I was OPK testing, temping for 3 of those months.
Thanks for this reply.

Re: venting and I need advice
I'd say:
Give it at least 3 more months of using OPKs and perfectly timed BD. Now that your tube is open, you have much better chances of getting pregnant - and HSGs are often said to leave you with increased fertility for 3 months after.
At that point, go back to the RE and discuss next steps.
Good luck!

Re: venting and I need advice
i am in a similar situation as you..
i LOVE my RE.. and he is extremely pro active with me... last time i saw him.. he told me that every test i took came back normal.. which left us with nothing else..
so with him knowing i can get PG again.. he is putting me on Letrozole..(its almost the same as Clomid) to try and jump start it..
if you are not satisfied and want more done.. let him know this!! or seek someone else that will !!
