Kill DH or not?
tomorrow I have to go to Cornell for bw and us and we are both working late tonight. I will have to get out of the house by 7ish to make it there. DH asks me if it's ok if he sleeps on the couch.
WHAT?
So it's ok that 99.9% of this physical and emptional rollercoaster is up to me..you have to be selfish and not get disturbed in the morning?
What about me? Do I get a break? NO!
He stopped talking about it and said he can't win either way.
I'm not speaking to him right now. He should be glad I didn't ask him to take me.
Then he says, I wasn't asking you to sleep on the couch, I was.
So when the baby cries are you going to sleep somewhere else too?
I think I'm out of my mind hormonal but I still think this was selfish.

Re: Kill DH or not?
I just feel he should be taking care of me.
I don't feel very taken care of.

I'm sorry Susan. Did you talk to him about it? He should realize (even if it's not on his own, but with your help) that you are being pumped full of hormones and undertaking a tremendous amount. And should be there for you- you're absolutely right- to take care of you!

Re: Kill DH or not?
Let him live! But I am biased....I frequently fall asleep on the couch and end up spending the night there.

Re: Kill DH or not?
My DH doesn't get it lots of time. He even says going to the drs is an inconveience - hello, you go once for 10 minutes, I was going 4 times a month! Anyway, just to say they are so clueless sometimes and can be insensitive w/o realizing it. Talk to him about it, you'll feel better and so will he, I'm sure he didn't mean it the way it sounded (but I'd be the same way as you).

Re: Kill DH or not?
Just tell him to do what he wants and then ignore him. That usually gives my DH the hint

Re: Kill DH or not?
Honestly, I never thought about it much...I would be happier if he slept on the couch, then I wouldn't have to tiptoe around the bedroom....

Re: Kill DH or not?
That is selfish and rude. But, what can you do? Men are men!
Don't let this bother you! But, honestly, who do you think is really getting up in the middle of the night when you have a baby?
What can you do? Nothing.
Thank goodness we have this site to vent!!!!

Re: Kill DH or not?
Kill em! Ok not seriously but kill em with words. I know I have to get my DH in check every so often by explaining just how much I have to go through for all this. He usually gets it- he's driven me to the city for every 7am weekend monitoring and gotten the early train with me for the weekday monitoring. He's been good but its still early.
