MEN just don't get it.

So this is the third cycle of TTC. I was recently laid off, but we have a plan in motion, and not too worried about it right now.

Well, my DH tells me that maybe we should hold off a few months and see what happens. I mean..I can't start TTC and then just "take a few months off". Do men realize even if I get PG tomorrow it takes 9 MONTHS before the baby is even here.

Ugh..I just had to vent! Chat Icon

My DH is convinced that we are going to get pg the first month. I keep telling him that there is a good possibility that it won't happen the first month. Heck it might not even happen in the first six months. He just rolls his eyes at me like I don't know what I am talking about.

Hubby thought we would be PG the first month. he calls himself the "genetic jackhammer"

I kid you not..Chat Icon Chat Icon

but after his SA test and the IUI today, the dr. said his counts were off the charts, so i guess hubby can call himself that..LOL

although i do remind him that its 7 months now and he hasnt knocked me up yet...

But in all honestly, they really have no idea. They aren't analyzing every cramp, pull, headache, boob pain, tingling feeling in their body. And, after 3 months..I just can't stop trying. I'm too emotionally involved.

Re: MEN just don't get it.

I think the main problem with men is that they don't realize the very short time frame that exists for us to actually get pregnant. They look at their friends and the teenagers that get pregnant "without even trying" and they assume that that can happen to us...
It takes a little bit of "disappointment" for them to finally realize and start asking questions about the process. DH didn't start really asking questions until we were about 9 months into the TTC "journey" (more like a roller coaster if you ask me! I hope no one has to go through months and months of TTC and it happens very soon for everyone! This way the DHs don't have to go through Health 101 all over again and only hear the word sex (as they did in HS) Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
