Need Your Recommendations please

This is a little bit long…
I hope that you can help me. I found out this week that I had another ectopic pregnancy. I was early enough that they were able to treat me with medication rather than surgery this time. So they are currently monitoring my numbers to make sure that they are going down.

My DH and I have done some forward thinking and believe that IVF is the route that we need to take. This is my second ectopic and we do not want to risk the chance of a third. I switched from my first OB because I had too many bad experiences with them and switched to another OB on someone’s recommendation. That experience has not been good as well. For example, I took a blood test (HCG levels) on Wednesday of one week and was not able to get the results until Monday of the next week. Based on my history I can’t afford to stay with that kind of practice.

Sigh…so I already have an RE lined up and am in search of a new OB as well as a high risk OB ( I have some other issues that are going to require the care of a high risk OB). I really need an office where not only is the doctor great but the staff is courteous and responsive. I cannot go through the stress again that these two doctors have put me through because of their lack of care. I am hoping that some of you ladies can provide some recommendations. I am searching for someone who is affiliated with Winthrop or South Nassau. I did a search of past posts and have come up with following names so far:

High Risk - Genevieve Sicuranaza and Robert Griggs. I have also come across Dr. Kofinas’ name several times. But I was told that he does not accept insurance.
Regular OB – Cheryl Solomon and Robert Nadell.

If you have any other suggestions PLEASE pass them on or if you have an opinion on any of the OB’s I named please let me know. Thank you so much. I am trying to not dwell so much on the fact that I had an ectopic pregnancy and do what I can to prepare for the future.

Re: Need Your Recommendations please

I want to say first I am so sorry to read what you are going through.. This IF journey is not fun at all and I feel your anguish..

This is what I did (am doing) and I am very very happy..

RE.. Dr Braverman SIRM he did my IVF and after 8w released me to Dr Kofinas (who does take insurance) Neither one of them do deliveries so I use my original OB Dr Alex Hirsch in Hewlett and affiliated w/South Nassau.. I only see him 1x per month.. Kofinas I see every 2weeks.. I am 19w pregnant and am very happy w/all 3 of these Dr's.. Good Luck to you.. May this journey go smoothly and quickly for you.. Chat Icon

First off, I am sorry you are going through this. It's good to see you are taking charge of things and geting connected with the right doctors for you. As for a high risk OB, I would recommend Dr. Victor Klein. He is consistently rated as a top maternal and fetal medicine specialist and takes insurance. His office is located in Great Neck and he is affiliated with NSUH. Best of luck to you!!

ETA: Unlike many high risk OB's, Dr. Klein delivers so you don't need a regular OB to deliver you.
