My family is crazy!!!!

So today at 5:30 is my ultrascreen and DH and I invited our moms to come along... Fine... Well now my dad got off of work early and wants to come and now my brother wants to come too!! I can't have all these people come.

Well they are all coming and will take turns in the sono room IF the sono tec let's them. I'm embrassed bring 5 people for a sono! Its the 1st grandchild I understand but come on there will be other sonos!! And to top off this craziness, DH and I planned to go to BBB to look into furniture and possibly order today well guess what! Everyone wants to come to that to! I'm so P-Oed. Not to be mean but no one invited them. It was something for DH and I do to together. Am I being a b*tch for feeling this way? How would you feel?

Personally, i would want just DH adn I in the untra sounds room, there is a good chance the tech won't let anyone in other than you two!

Also, at 12 weeks, they couldn't get certain shots so they had to do a vaginal ultrasound!

As for going to the store, I think its sweet your family wants to come, there is a chance they may even offer to buy your furniture!

Try to include them and let them share in your happienss.

Maybe you shoudl do the ultrasound by yourselves an then you can all go and look at baby stuff together!

I am sure that too much attention is better than what my husband and I are getting which is no attention

honestly, i would say thank you for the conern, but the doctor's office doesn't let all these people in the room. i would say DH only. perhaps they can wait in the waiting room or you can meet them all for dinner or something afterwards and show them the sono. pics. i don't think you're being a b itch at all for feeling the way you do.

i wouldn't want that many people in there for several reasons. the main one being if you're only 12 weeks, a good part of that sono. will be internal. do you want your brother or father to see your legs in the air with the stick inserted in your vagina...yeah, there is a cloth over your legs, but still--- i would find that awkward.

also, the sono. tech will need their concentration to take all the pictures they need to take and that many people will be disruptive. also, sonos don't take that much time...5 minutes max... so everyone probably won't even get a chance anyway.

i am sooo close to my mom and she wasnt' at any of my sonos yet... it's just been DH at this point.

I think it's too much, and I don't think my dr. would allow it. It's sweet of them to want to come, but I would just tell them that many people aren't allowed.

honestly, call the doc's office. find out if they ALLOW that many people to be there...(even in the waiting room).

The 12 week for me was my first EXTERNAL sono, but it was also remarkably QUICK - less than 3 minutes, no joke....

I'd think if they want to see the baby - the level 2 - at 20 weeks would be when they should join you...as that one takes longer, is more detailed, etc...

WHOA!! Thats A LOT of people!! if anything just keep it to the Grandmothers coming! And if your dad and brother want to come furniture shopping thats fine, but not to the doctors!!

I agree with Jess, I would call the Dr's office & see what they say. It is going to be mass confusion if everyone is there.

Personally I only want DH & I there but we agreed that if we could, we would have our mom's there for the 20 week sonogram. We plan on finding out but not at the appt, so it will be nice to have our mom's witness the sonogram. I already know that my Dr's office allows this but I believe that is the only sonogram they do.

In terms of going to the store, I would tell them you want to go & see if there is anything that DH & you like before bringing a carload with you. Too many opinions could get confusing....

I am so happy my family is so supportive, excited and want to be apart of all this. To me is to much for one day if you know what I mean.

All the sonos has been me and DH only( I've had a ton because of IVF) so I don't mind my mom being there but I can't have her and not my mother In law. My dad and brother said maybe they will just come to the store but my dad really wants to come and I feel a little bad but if they do an internal I'm not going to feel to comfortable lol thanks for the replys cause I'm def trying your suggestions!!

Dh and I are trying to just meet them after for dinner and like someone said bring the sonos and share them at dinner with them.

I don't think it's a good idea. Especially at a 12-week sono. I could see more if it was the anatomy one where you were finding out the sex but even so........it's still a bit much to have all those people there IMO.

Maybe you can book a 3D/4D sono down the road and then everyone and your mothers can attend!

I would just tell your dad you will most likely be getting an internal and you wouldn't feel comfy with him there for that one.

My 12 week sono, I was there a while because baby was not cooperating.
I ended up even walking the hallways.
Keep in mind, this can happen too,, although, chances are slim it may or may not.
Also, the place I went to, the room was so small, no way could we have brought anyone with us.

what I did was invite my family and my best friend to a 3d sono that I had done at about 28 weeks

Awwww! Sorry you have to deal with this. I do recall going to my SIL's sono (we just talked about it yesterday) and there were a few of us, and kids. But it was just a regular visit.

But you are saying ultrascreen. Isn't that for testing? The down syndrome chromosome thing? I would think they would not allow a crowd for something like that. Maybe you could ask if you can bring a dvd to make a copy to show everyone else (when you and DH get home from shopping).

As for the furniture shopping, that is a little strange to get the whole band wagon. I could see the moms, if they were going to treat! But dad and bro really want to be there?
