Remember that crazy family?
Our neighbors with the 3 girls who weren't home when the girls came home from school, so I watched them? The ones who fight SO loudly that we can hear them from inside our house?
Yeah, well, I think the husband left the wife, with the 3 kids! The fighting was getting out of control - at all hours - and then POOF, husband's car has been gone for 2 days, and he hasn't been home to get the kids from the bus, and he hasn't been walking them to the bus stop in the morning, like he usually does. He doesn't have a real job, so it's not like he would be travelling for business, and all of his family lives in the same town
The wife is staying inside for the last 2 days and I can hear the girls crying inside everytime I walk by.
I feel awful. I want to stop by and see if she's ok, but I don't feel quite comfortable yet to do that.

One of them has developmental/social issues - she doesn't handle change well at all. I mean, really, she freaks out on me if I talk about cutting some bushes, so I can only imagine how upsetting it would be if daddy isn't home like he usually is. She's the one that I can hear crying. I'm sure her mom is overwhelmed taking care of all 3 by herself, too, while working.

Can you ask the girls over for an hour or two for a playdate?

I think I'll do that this weekend. Maybe I'll stop by with a plate of cookies or something, and invite them over for a playdate. If nothing else, I'm sure mom could use a break and the girls could probably use a little pick-me-up

Re: Remember that crazy family?
We hung out with them today - the mom, Julia, looked SO overwhelmed and so sad. Instead of making dinner, she pulled out a blanket and gave the kids rice cakes with peanut butter, and said she just couldn't handle making dinner for all three
I wanted to say something, but I felt weird with DH there. Tomorrow, DH said he'll leave if she comes out - she always opens up to me when it's just me and her, and the girls. And, we're going to invite them over for dinner either tomorrow night, or the night after.
I just feel so bad for her, it's indescribable
