Tooth sensitivity?
Is this an early syptom? My teeth have been extremely sensitive lately? I wasn't sure if this was pregnancy related. TIA

i dont know if it is an early symptom, but i'm 34 weeks and for the past 3 weeks my gums have been killing me.
at my last dentist appointment, the dentist said i had pregnancy gingivitis- which is common and is a symptom..
so who knows..

My teeth, which have never been sensative, are super sensative to cold things like ice cream or ice water.
Pregnancy does weird thing to you

i wouldn't say mine are sensitive - but l did realize, that when I brush, i was bleeding a lot more....
i got a Extra Soft toothbrush and the issue went away...

Mine are so sensitive and I have to drink out of a straw.. Its an absolute symptom for me... I use sensodyne toothpaste and it helped but not 100% at all.. Cold is a killer not hot...

Im a dental assistant--we took a class on this----
There are many things that pregnancy can do to your mouth. You can have sensitive gums, bleeding gums, you can have inflammation of the gums between your teeth that looks bright red like you have a swedish fish stuck, pregnancy induced gingivitis is a common one, if you have cavities pregnancy and speed them up and you can go from a small cavity to needing a root canal pretty quickly. Teeth don't always follow the rules normally and they can be a little more unruly during pregnancy.
Just continue brushing and flossing 2-3 times a day, drink as much water as you can to flush your mouth and if you are really sensitive, you can use ProNamel toothpaste to help strenghten the enaml on your teeth or use Sensodyne.

Thanks for the suggestion! I was going to start using Sesodyne. I have had tooth sensitivity in the past and Sensodyne really helps.
