If you've had 1 wisdom tooth removed..

how bad was the pain afterwards? did it hurt for days? could you talk?

Lived on Motrin!!! However because of that no swelling and no pain. The most annoying is the stiches!!

I had one pulled in the dentists office and the pain was minimal. I took prescription motrin and was just a bit sore for a few days.

Now when I had the other 3 pulled, well that's a different story

I had my bottoms removed. Swelling & pain wasn't so bad. Stitches were the worst part. Not so much because they hurt but because you need to keep them clean and after a while they start to stink

I had one removed on my lunch break...came back to work and was fine. I didn't take anything as I didn't have any pain.

Now when I had three removed at once, that was a different story...one I won't get into

I *think* the bottom are easier to remove than the top...thus yielding little to no pain (depending on your threshold).

I had four removed at once. I actually had a harder time dealing with the gas they give you. I tend to fight against drugs that put me out so I remember dealing with that more than the pain. I think the pain subsided pretty quickly and just took OTC pain meds

I got all 4 removed at once and honestly it wasnt that bad. I didnt take any pain medication just slept.

I had 4 at once. I was put to sleep for it. I was fine after and at the mall the next day!

I had all 4 removed a month ago..it was NOT terrible at all. Just a little sore.

It hurt for about 2 days. The swelling wasn't too bad. I took a lot of pain killers, though.

I had all four removed at the same time. I was awake for the whole thing, they gave me some novacaine, and it wasn't a big deal. I was in some pain for a couple of days, but I went to the bronx zoo the day after. I took the vicodin, but it made me feel weird, so I switched to the prescription ibruprofen, and that was fine.

I had 2 taken out at the same time a week apart, no biggie, no bruising, no soreness, the only thing that bothered me was the stitch they had to remove and mine were impacted bad.

DH just had 1 removed about 4 months ago, he was fine too.

I had one of my top ones removed. No problems at all...just a gapping hole there that last a few months. Also might be a little hesitant to eat on that side for a few days.

If you get one of the bottoms, supposedly dry socket is somethign you have to worry about, so don't smoke (if you do) or drink through a staw.

Really the fear is worse then the procedure.

I had two removed-- one each on two different occasions. The first one was a complete breeze, just a little soreness when I ate for a few days. The second one was worse (it was a larger tooth but they decided not to stitch, I think they should have), so the soreness was worse but I still only needed Advil.

It really depends on if the tooth is impacted or not and how it is growing in.

I three removed at one time and all was fine.

Had 1 top one removed, which was impacted and it hurt like a MOFO....i was throwing up and in pain all the next day....

thank you...it's the top left and i think it may be impacted as well. i just found out my appt for monday is a consult only...so thats good. i can breathe a little now! i was scared!

I had all 4 out at once. Needed stitches on the top ones. Did it with just novacaine. Wasn't bad at all. Ate steak that night!

i had all 4 done at once. Only had slight swelling on one side because the tooth was close to a nerve, so the dentist had to be careful. Got a prescriptuion painkiller, but it wasn't so bad.
