What should I buy to make breastfeeding easier?

Bras?

Nursing tank tops?

I'm clueless....

Re: Breastfeeding & Clothes

I would buy the sports bra-type nursers for the beginning. Your size can fluctuate even after you begin nursing. The nursing bras are also great, but I personally held off on getting them until I was BFing for about a month & my size was more consistent.

The nursing tanks are comfy & I love them as well.

Re: Breastfeeding & Clothes

Purchase NONUNDERWIRE bras. I made the huge mistake of purchasing underwire nursing bras and it was horrible. Gap maternity has decent nursing shirts - they have discrete ways for the baby to get the milk. I loved my nightime nursing bra for the begining. If you plan on going back to work a double electric nursing pumpis vital. I loved my medilla PISA. Other people like the advent but I have no experince with that one. Even if you are not going to work a good manual pump is a necessity for the times when you have more milk than the baby can drink or if you just need a moment to go out. Nursing pads - I liked the thin gerber ones but there are a lot of different types. Lanisoh cream- the one in the purple tube. I liked a nursing nightgown - but not the ones with the slits.

Re: Breastfeeding & Clothes

I LIVED in these gap nursing tanks while BFing, they're on sale for $18 now. I had 4 of them, and usually wore one at night. The hook is GREAT on these, easy to open and close with one hand, which is vital. Medela makes a nursing tank too for the Gap, don't ask my why but it's $45!!!!!

As for pjs, I bought a pair of nursing pjs but also used pant/top set pjs that had buttons down the shirt.

Re: Breastfeeding & Clothes

Medela makes a sleep bra which I love for at night, and during the day I had nursing bras from Target. Other than that I just wore regular stuff w/low V neck cut type shirts. I didn't have any "nursing" clothes at all. I did buy the glamourmom nursing tank but I hated it, so uncomfy for me.
