What's the rule
for prep. for the glucose test.....taking mine tomorrow and I know I can't eat anything but can I drink water before I go????

ask your OB unfortunately....every person on here has a different answer.
my doc said NO fasting - but not to eat anything sugary before.
for the 3 hour - NO FOOD or drink after 8:45 PM (my test is at 8:45 am)

Exactly! My doc siad I didn't have to fast but that it'd be more accurate if I did!

Definatley check w/ your doc....I didnt have to fast at all, just told to avoid sugars...I would have died , my GTT was at like 5:30 pm  !

With my first DC, my appt was not until 5pm. Doc said do things as normal but don't eat or drink anything after I drink the glucose solution. That's what I did and I passed just fine.
This time, my appt is at 10am so I probably won't eat anything in the am before i drink the stuff.

I was told to fast 12 hours prior to the test. I did drink water. It wasn't so bad.

it doesn't matter if you fast or not. You either have GD or you don't - eating won't make any difference either way...unfortunately...
