At that point...

to make the call to my doctor. Well, actually we have one more month of trying but I am calling to make the appt for the following month. Way to be a downer, right? Chat Icon I just want to get in to see her as soon as possible and get some answers.

So why am I so nervous to make this call? Chat Icon

Re: At that point...

You're nervious b/c in some sense you are admitting defeat and you may hear something you don't want to hear. On the other hand.. you are taking control and taking the first step to finding out IF there is a problem!!! You are being proactive and beleive it or not..that's a very BRAVE thing to do!!

Good luck!!!Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

It's definitely not an easy step - but I will tell you that people often get pregnant right before that appointment! Once the pressure is off and they know they have a plan "B" - sometimes it works! And if not, then you will be in the hands of an expert whose entire job is to get you pregnant. Sounds like a win-win to meChat Icon

Re: At that point...

don't be nervous. I went to see my OB and she made me feel a lot better about my situation. She said with my short luteal phase, it would be difficult to concieve so we got started on some meds

It is normal to feel nervous though

I wish you the best of luck Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon It is definitely unnerving to give in to the idea that there may be something wrong. But instead you should focus on how great and proactive you're being in giving Lucas a little sibling Chat Icon

Re: At that point...

Make the call... I don't know how long you have been trying but I waited to make the call too. I figured I was crazy b/c it was so easy to get preggo with my first. When I finally went to the dr, I wish I had called sooner. Maybe I could have had the ball rolling earlier, KWIM? Now I feel like I wasted some months b/c I could have gone in to see him earlier. I thought it had to be after the 6th month mark, but he said he would have seen me earlier considering I already had a child and had no problems the first time. Maybe just make the call and see the options??? I wish I knew, I would have called earlier and been more proactive with the next steps I needed to take.

After re-reading this I feel like I sound tough and am yelling- I am not, just my own crazy hormones! Sorry!

After starting TTC in June with no results throughout the summer, I saw my OB in October. We worked out a game plan and I am so happy I made that call. DH and I are waiting until after the new year to really dive into everything (Clomid, monitoring and such) but we are happy knowing that our Doctor is behind us with whatever steps we need to take. Also, just going in to talk things out helped a lot as well.

Good luck to you! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: At that point...

Making the call is a hard thing - but I think it's great to be proactive about it! I actually have a regular appt. scheduled for mid-January - and we would know if I had a positive or not by then....if not - that will be the 6th month of trying and I def. plan on discussing things with my Dr.

I want to get this ball rolling - Jack needs a little sibling before he really gets spoiled and wants to be an only child like his mommy! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: At that point...

As some of the other posters said, while it is a very hard step, it is important to make the call and you will feel better!!!

When I first started experiencing difficulties TTC, I saw my ob-gyn who ran a few tests and then I went to see an RE.

While it is overwhelming, I felt so much better after my first appointment with the RE and knowing that I was getting the ball rolling!!!

I am SO happy that I did not wait!!

It will be ok Chat Icon Chat Icon
