sleeping clothes
What does your baby wear to bed? Roman wears a onesie under his sleeper and then he gets swaddled. Whenever he gets up during the night he is so sweaty. Should I skip the pj's and just swaddle him in his onesie? I keep remembering his Dr. talking about overheating as a contributor to SIDS.

Re: sleeping clothes
I might be in the minority here, but the only thing I put Justin to bed in is his PJs. I try to put a cotton set on rather than the heavier ones like the terry cloth ones. I just worry about him overheating, plus we live in an apartment that gets tons of heat. The only time I put a onsie on him is if it is very cold outside and I feel a chill in the apartment.

Re: sleeping clothes
Our house is always warm, so I put a short sleeves onesie on and cotton PJs and that's it. If I feel cold, I put on a long sleeve onesie and a flannel type sleep sack on him. I overdressed him when he first came home and he was always sweaty and got a heat rash

Re: sleeping clothes
we just use a cotton onesie and her PJs. i read that a big cause of sids was overheating so I always tried not to overheat her.

Re: sleeping clothes
If he is sweaty, sounds like he needs less clothing to me. I can't say what the right combination is because I don't know how warm his room is.

Re: sleeping clothes
I'm also probably in the minority but Jake gets overheated easily (just like his Daddy) so no onesie. Just the sleeper and the sleep sack.

Re: sleeping clothes
I think I'll skip the onsie and see how that goes. Thanks for the input.

Ditto, but I also have a light blanket over her.

I do the same thing. HE has some 2 peice cotton jammies and he does just fine in that. A few times I did notice he was sweating when I had too much on him.

Re: sleeping clothes
Sometimes he wears a sleep sack and that's it...other times he wears feetie pjs....never anything underneath.
When Jared was little, I used to wrap him in a blanket and he woke up with a red rash on his neck. The doctor said it was a heat rash from sweating so much. I calmed down with the wrapping...

Re: sleeping clothes
Fleece or terry PJ's with a short sleeve onesie underneat and a fleece swaddle. Sometimes we skip the onesie. We don't make our house overly warm though, just first thing in the AM for showers. So far she doesn't seem sweaty to me. In the fall though she would sleep in a onesie and her swaddle, that's all. More than that and she was sweating.

Re: sleeping clothes
So I tried just cotton pj's no onesie, and he was not sweaty. He did also get up every two hours though which he usually doesn't do.
