A good - "aggressive" OB/GYN?

Anyone know or have an OB/GYN that is willing to work with a couple in TTC in an aggressive manner (i.e. willing to have ALL tests run BEFORE the 1 year period is up).

DH and I are on cycle 9 - in my heart I feel there's something wrong, but I know that my GYN is too "Laissez faire" and wants to wait it out...

Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!

Why don't you research RE offices?

DH and I went straight to an RE office, they really never asked us if we were trying for over a year.

We are doing IVF with PGD testing which is kind of different, but they aren't going to know if you have been trying for 9 months or a year.

If you feel you have a problem, then research RE offices and make and appt on your own.

Good Luck and praying for your BFP!

Honestly... if you are committed to getting aggressive with TTC, I would go straight to an RE.

While I love, love, love my OBGYN, and they claim the practice also specializes in Infertility, they really don't, and I wish I had been more proactive in my quest to get pregnant. The RE's only job is to get you pregnant, that's what they do. That's not an OBs main focus.

when I met with my dr in SEptemeber and told him that we're TTC since March, he said lets wait till December, if nothing happens then we'll do all the tests. So I guess its under a year wait.

this is why i'm going to a RE. to get some testing done, get answers and work out a plan. i can't waste my time with a doctor who is not concerned about me not being able to get pregnant!

i agree with the RE thing, HOWEVER....please, please, please, check your insurance....

My United insurance doesn't have pre-requisites. I checked into my other option (my job has 2 options for healthcare, you pick which one you want)....that one DID require a year and a referral.

Mine requires a year of trying and a referral too. My doctor said since i am over 30 but under 35 he would refer me at only 6 months, but it wouldn't have been covered at that point. GL! Chat Icon
