Need some hugs
A little back history...dh and I are currently on our 5th cycle trying and only my BF knows that we are TTC. Recently, another couple that we are VERY close with also started TTC. Last month they got a BFN. I felt horrible for them, since I know exactly what it's like. We saw them last night and found out she is late. Well ladies, I hate to admit it....but my first thought was not, "Oh yeah! She's pregnant!" It was, "What about me?" I feel terrible for thinking it, but it's all I can think about now. They (most likely) got pg right away and here we are plodding right along. I know it is soooooooo selfish to think, but it felt like a sock in the gut when they said it. When will it be our turn?

I know how you feel. My sister, my cousin and one of my friends got pregnant after DH and I started trying and they all had their babies already. It's hard, but it will make it even sweeter when you do get that BFP.

every single one of us has had those feelings - you are NOT alone in these thoughts...
it's very normal to feel the way you do...please believe me. It is a constant inner struggle...happy for people, yet inside, tortured...
i wish i could say something to make it better...just know that we are all here for you!

We all feel this way at sometime. The hardest part for me is takling 911 calls for pregnant 16 year olds having contractions and this is the 2nd baby. I understadn feeling like it's not fair...Trust me you're soooooooooooo not alone

I am sorry that you feel this way. I do hope that somewhere in there you are happy for your close friend. I have friends who are pregnant and others who are trying all at the same time. Even my SIL is having twins! DH and I are actively trying but we are nothing but happy for people when we find out that they are pregnant. I just think about how I would feel if these people were not happy for me when our time comes.
I wish all the luck in the world to you. And she is only late, right? She might not even be pregnant, just late.

Thanks for the responses ladies!! Of course I'll be happy for them if they get a BFP, but at the same time it is extremely painful to get BFNs month after month. It's something that you will never know how that feels until you experience it. Many of you know exactly how I feel and what I mean by that. I wish ALL of us the best of luck this month and hope we all get the BFPs that we are dreaming of!

That is a totally normal feeling! When you've been trying for so long, I think a part of us feels we "deserve it" more - even though that's not really the case. I know it stings, but stay strong. Your time will come!

Yes! I think that's it! You really put that into perspective for me. I guess part of me does feel like I've "earned it" or that I "deserve" it and you're right, that makes absolutely no sense. I guess I never thought about it that way. I feel better about it already, so that if and when I get the phone call from them saying "We're pregnant!" I will REALLY be able to be happy for them in the most genuine way possible.

It's a natural way to feel....so don't feel bad about. Anyway, you can't control your feelings, only your actions. And I am sure when you get that phone call, you will do the right thing and let the happy part of you shine through, even if it hurts inside.....
But I know your pain.....it sucks.

Totally normal feelings, and you should not feel badly about them. I try to remember that someone else's pregnancy takes nothing away from my ability to get pregnant, it hard but I try to remember that.
