Does everyone use OPK kits?
If yes, Why and Which one?
If no, how come?
I ask b/c I'm on the fence about them and I haven't known anyone personally in my life who has used one but you ladies all seem to and I'm just curious if I should or not
(AF is pretty regular, even when I went off BCP, it still came exactly 28 days later and has ever since if that makes a difference)

Re: Does everyone use OPK kits?
I do. I use the Clearblue Easy OPK. For me, it takes out some (not all!) of the guess work out when determining when I ovulate. My coworker gave me the heads up on them. This was my first month using it. Hopefully they help me next month!
eta: I use the digitals. I can't be bothered trying to read lines

Re: Does everyone use OPK kits?
I do because I realized with DS that I had no idea when I ovulated. I was ovulating sooner than I thought.
We just started TTC for baby #2 and I bought OPK right away this time around.
It may not feel as "natural" but honestly, when I plan on getting PG I plan on being PG "now".

Re: Does everyone use OPK kits?
No matter what your cycle length, it's hard to tell when you ovulate without using something to pinpoint ovulation.
Whether it's OPKs, CBEFM, temping/charting...
I honestly believe that TTC is something many people don't really talk about. I know many people who have gotten pregnant, seemingly right away, but then with further discussion and questions realized that many of them used OPKs or something else to figure out when they ovulated.
You really don't know how long your LP is - it can be 10 days or it can be 17 days, so using the OPKs is a good way to figure that out.
If you're really not wanting to use them, you can always just try to BD every other day after AF ends until your next AF is due - although many people don't really like to do it that way.

Re: Does everyone use OPK kits?
I used them when i was trying bc i have very long and irregular cycles.
I was always using the Target brand that shows 2 lines. I finally stepped it up a notch to the CBE digital and that was the month i got BFP. I wished i used that kind all along. I personally think its more accurate

Re: Does everyone use OPK kits?
I use the CBEFM. I started using it because I didnt really know exactly when I would be ovulating.

Re: Does everyone use OPK kits?
I don't.
i'm always 28 days, so I aim for days around the 14th.
it worked the 2 times I tried it, unfortunately I miscarried.
I may use them if the next couple months don't yield anything.

Re: Does everyone use OPK kits?
My cycles are never the same so I would never know when I ovulated if I didn't!

Re: Does everyone use OPK kits?
I use the CBEFM...I wouldn't have if I didn't have a friend to lend it to me. But anyway, I think EWCM is a great predictor....I had a day on the CBEFM that said low, and literally hours later, EWCM showed. OPKs may not be a 100% necessary on your first try. I borrowed the CBEFM only because I was anxious to pinpoint it perfectly.
