Just for fun! 2 parts
Part One:
Which acronyms do you actually pronounce as words (in your head)?
For example, I say "OPK" as "O.P.K." (pronouncing each letter), but I say KWIM as if it were a word (KWIM, like rhymes with WHIM).
My friend used to say "LOL" as a word - like the beginning of lollipop.
I also say AKA like it's a word: Ah-ka.
I'm crazy, how about you?
Part Two:
Which acronyms do you wish people outside of LIF understood?
For me, I wish everyone knew KWIM, DH, MIL/FIL/BIL/SIL, GTG, and IMO/JMO.

I SAY alot of acronyms like- JW and OPK to my hubby. Me and my sister often speak in acronyms at work so no one knows what we're talking about.
I often catch myself about to refer to my husband as DH to the outside world.

It's so funny you brought this up...I had a conversation a couple of weeks ago with my sister about all of our TTC efforts and I spoke in pretty much ALL LIF lingo. She had to stop me because she couldn't understand what the heck I was talking about.
I read POAS, KWIM and a few other as the words (pee on a stick) but DH and BD and the short ones I say the letters.

I so wish that I could speak in the "lingo" outside of here. DH just does not get what I am trying to say to him and no one really knows we are TTC.

I usually pronounce (in my head) each letter of the acronym, or I read out the words they stand for, KWIM?
I definitely wish "outsiders" understood BIL, SIL, MIL, FIL. I also wish my e-mail had the emoticons that LIF has.

I sooooo wish other people knew what DH, SO, BD and MIL meant!! When I see KWIM, I say the whole thing in my head (know what I mean?) But when I see DH, I only say the letters to myself, D-H. I agree with pp who said they want the emoticons on email or text. I have thought several times how much I would like the jumping man when I type exciting or fun news on an email!
