So frustrated!!
I had an appt. for my followup to my failed July IVF cycle at the end of August, but had to cancel it last minute, b/c of a family emergency. I called the following week to reschedule and all they could give me was October 21...7 weeks away! Ok fine. I work full time and it's a pain in the a$$ for me to take off. So I'm sure being available only after 4 is not a help, but come on.
But then they called me yesterday to reschedule, because THEY screwed up. Now I have to wait until 10/28. ugh.
I can deal with that. It's just that I wanted to do another cycle. If I would have had my august appt, I could have started already. I just don't understand why I have to sit face to face with Dr. Brenner to start the ball rolling on the next cycle. Why can't I just start on bcp next AF and be ahead of the game?
A nurse is supposed to call me back. Too bad I can't take calls while I'm in my classroom!
I'm just venting. I hate having my issue filtered through a receptionist. I wish I could email the nurse and explain it that way. It's so hard to cover everything concisely while you're being rushed off the phone.

I have to tell you, that's probably my biggest problem with LI-IVF...they should really have e-mail access.

It's funny you posted this morning- I was just getting ready to FM you to see what was going on.
I agree. I'm not sure if it's different b/c mine would've been a FET but originally (before my beta didn't cooperate) they were allowing me to start on an FET cycle (assuming I paid the fee that day) right away, w/o talking to my dr (who was on vacation) or ANY dr.... I would call back and ask them to have Dr. B call you directly so you and he can sort this out. There's no reason that you should be put off for months like this- and ITA- I wish they had email access- they obviously do amongst eachother, but not for the patients... which would def. make life a lot easier and cut down on the phone calls.

I was just going to suggest this. After my failed cycle, Dr. Droesch said I could come in or she would work with me to do a phone appointment.
ETA - I hate that you can't communicate with them via e-mail. I work in a cubicle and everyone hears my business. If I ever have to call them, I have to do it during lunch and hope and pray they call me back while I am out to lunch.

Ditto on the email frustration. I agree w/ calling Dr. Brenner. He's usually pretty good w/ returning calls and maybe he can get you on your cycle w/o having to suffer this eternal wait. On the other hand, maybe there is a reason they need to see you face-to-face to discuss next steps? I would think they could get you in earlier though in either case.
Don't they also "shut down" to do their statistics stuff mid-October too?

Phone appt! good idea. It would be easier if I was able to get calls during the day. So I'm playing phone tag with them now. I'm going to call later and hopefully talk to Gale (she called me back and left a message this morning). I'll be 3 weeks into my next cycle when I see Brenner, so maybe I can start BCPs next time around. I just want to get a cycle in before Christmas! I'll be away for work the week of Dec 1st, so it's hard to juggle this all.
Either way, I'll ask about doing a phone appt. with Dr. B.

I spoke to Gale/Gail and she was VERY helpful. She went through the calendar with me and we figured out some things over the phone. I then called Lake Success and they were able to squeeze me in on 10/6 (I'll have to get someone to cover my last class), which is right before AF, so I could probably start BCPs next cycle, which would bring me to a November IVF. Sounds good to me! Let's hope AF cooperates.

Glad to hear it seems to be working out. I spoke with her today as well... wish my outcome was better.   I won't get into that though....

Excellent...I am so glad you did that...I didn't see this post.
I do the same with Brenner. He is pretty accomodating over the phone...I figured he would actually probably let you start BCP to get you to a November cycle. But seeing him in Lake Success is much easier than seeing him in Melville. That's a nightmare. But when he wants to see you? They certainly make sure he's available. But he also expects you to be there at the drop of a hat...my last cycle when I got pregnant, I was actually seeing HIM twice a week. But I had to get there on HIS schedule...when he was the one who wanted to see me! That was pretty annoying.
