Spoke to RE again
So I had the IUI on 9/5 and got my period today. I spoke with Dr. B who believes that my luteal phase is borderline too short. He basically gave me the option of how I wanted to proceed. I could do another natural IUI, I could do Clomid, or I could do the HSG. He did recommend a second post-coital test (we failed the first one).
So I am now even more depressed than I was before. I thought I was just dealing with the sperm/cm incompatibility issue. Now I am dealing with a too short luteal phase.
I am leaning toward doing the Clomid IUI this month. Any advice or thoughts??? He recommended progesterone for the luteal phase.

Re: Spoke to RE again
I would do the HSG for sure. If for some reason you do have a blockage, doing all the IUI's in the world won't help, you'd just be wasting your time.
Progesterone will help lengthen your LP. Low progesterone is usually the cause for a short LP.

ITA.
Do the HSG! I just posted a very long thread about my HSG experience on the TTC board in case you want to read more about it.

Couldn't agree more...I don't know how many times I will tell people - I did IUI's for a year with zero success and when I changed RE's they did an HSG and my tubes were completely blocked. A year of IF $$$ and time wasted.

Re: Spoke to RE again
I guess you guys are right. There is a risk for ruining your tubes with an HSG. I guess the chance is slim, but it seems like a risk given that I don't have any of the risk factors for a blocked tube. It just seems so random that both tubes would be blocked.
Do you think it is horrible to do a round of clomid without the HSG and see how it goes?
For those of you who had blocked tubes, what was the reason?
Does the progesterone totally cure the luteal phase problem?
Thanks for your advice. I am a sad girl today.
