Last Ditch effort
I was a regular poster but have changed my name due to lurkers.
Anyway, DH and i are giving it one last ditch effort to get PG. We have been dealing w/ male infertility and only real issue is low volume (all other factors came back very good). Although dr says we will need IUI, we are trying this last time on our own.
So heres the question- we have held out from BDing since this past wkd. We want to try to "store up" as much semen as possible.
I am due to get a +OPK tomorrow. We plan to only BD 1x so that we can get the most volume.
SO..... do you think we should BD day of or day after +OPK?????????????

When I got pregnant, I BD exactly 25 hours after my positive opk. It only took one time. I would say that's your best bet...but it's totally up to you.

Are you sure you only want to BD 1x?
The sperm needs about 36 hours to replenish.
Even if you "save up" it doesn't necessarily guarantee that you will have a higher volume.
DH and I did not BD for a week before our SA and he STILL had low volume. Our dr recommended BDing every other day so that there was time for replenishing.
Also, you need to speak to your doctor about the exact results.
From what I understand, volume should be the least concerning as an issue. You might only have 1 ml of semen, but there could be 150 million sperm in that. Even if you BD'd 2 days later and only had HALF of that volume and amount of sperm, 75 million would still be a great number of sperm - and his morphology and motility were fine, right?

I agree, and actually the longer period of abstinence prior to BDing can have an effect.
Also, in our case, DH always had a higher count the 2nd day.
I would wait 3 days BD on the day of O and the next day

You shouldn't try to go more than 3-5 days without BDIng or DH "relieving himself." If they sit in there for too long, they can get "stale."

I agree with Lauren in the pp...
we had a low volume issue as well and acupuncture helped...ALOT. Maybe you want to try that, it couldn't hurt.
