When did you ditch the mobile?
Stupid me, I ony just realised that the kid actually loves the mobile and it helps him get to sleep...
So he is 10 months, should I ditch the mobile? he does stand up to play with it, but he doesn't really pull at it...
What alternatives to the mobile do I have???

I don't know about alternatives to a mobile, but we never had one at all. She had one in her pack n play, but I was so bent on her crib being a place for sleeping and not playing that I kept it out of there. She seems no worse for the ware. I would definitely take it out, though, Rach. If he gets it down, it has the potential to be dangerous. What about a crib toy?

5 months, we have the aquarium thingie and she loves it, she plays with it in the mornings.

Rachel- I just ditched the mobile last week and Sofia is now 9 mos. She started tugging at it, etc. I do have the Ocean Wonders Aquarium thingy in her crib which plays lullabys. If he doesn't pull at it or use it to assist him to try to climb out of the crib then you can keep it there for now but eventually you will need to take it down- more for his safety.

I had the mobile in my sons crib until he was almost 2! He never had any interest in it. The only reason I took it down was to put it away for baby #2. I wanted him to forget about it so that when we did put it back in the crib for baby #2, he wouldn't think it was his.

Ali just started grabbing it the last week - actually not grabbing it, reaching for it and touching it with the tips of her fingers, I will be taking it out shortly

About 6 months, when he was pulling it so hard, I thought it was going to snap.
My friend bought me this fish 3 in one mobile. You can take the mobile off and just attach it to the crib or put it on a night table. Jared presses the button when he wakes up at night. It lights up, plays music and moves.
