Does anyone only have one ovary?

I found out that when I had my c-section with DD that I only had 1 Chat Icon It took us about 6 months to conceive her and I got pregnant the first month of charting.

My period is all wacky now - I'm on CD52 and nothing yet! And I'm not pregnant! I just want AF to come so I can officially start charting again for #2.

Any tips from people with one ovary??

Re: Does anyone only have one ovary?

i only have one and a half, half of one was removed during ovarian surgery (I had a large cyst that needed to be removed).

However, my gyn. thinks i am only ovulating from one side. this may be the case with you, well, i would think it would be with only one. (most people with two ovulate from one ovary each month, going back and forth).

Therefore, if you're only ovulating from one side, your cycles will be much longer. does that make sense?

I had my right ovary removed b/c of endometriosis when I was 21. After that, I saw a RE for 6 yesrs to try to "preserve" my fertility. I have normal 28-30 day cycles. If you only have one ovary, the other one compensates for the missing one. So instead of going back and forth, you just ovulate from the ovary that you do have.

Not TTC yet but I also only have 1 ovary. My doctor told me I may or may not ovulate every month. She said sometimes the one compensates and you ovulate every month but not always. She also told me I shouldn't have difficulty getting pregnant because of only having one.
Hope that helps!
