How Many DH's (SA Related)

Were complete babies about going to the doc for a SA?

My husband has an appt. for today at noon just so my RE can make sure he is not dealing w/ my PCOS and a possible male issue and DH is being a misearble B!TCH i told him his part is easy i am the one who had to give about 20 vials of blood and the ever amusing internal sonos.

I wish he could just be a little more supportive.

DH was the same way. He'll get used to it, he's going to have to do a lot of this sort of thing even with treatment. He'll have to do it in a cup for IUIs and IVF, so...he better man up here and get down to it. DH was annoying about it, but he's gotten over it.

I've told him on a regular basis, at least what you're doing feels good! What I have to endure is awful!!!

Mine was really good about it. He never complained. He looked it as part of the process of making a baby. This was his part. Can your DH give the sample at home? I think being able to do this made it a lot easier for mine.

I was able to have DH's SA sample done at home. That made it easier. I had more problems on our first IUI sample. And that was still at home. I think that was more of me pushing him to get it done and annoying him, than anything else. Maybe he's just scared they are going to find something wrong. It is a huge blow to the male ego when something is wrong with their swimmers.

My DH was rough around the edges in the beginning of this entire process. His turning point was when one of his guy friends (who had previously been through it) told him it was no big deal & at least it would answer some questions. I can tell you the first SA was a nightmare & then it got easier as time went on.

DH does his thing at home & I make it a point to leave the house for that period (this way he has no added stress). We will be doing our second IUI in a couple of days & DH is actually excited....Funny how things change in a couple of months

DH had no problems and gave me no grief about it...he looked at that I really ahve the tough end of things, the sono's, poking & proding, drugs, drug side effects...

and as a previous poster said on this topic a long time ago..he only has to do something he likes to do anyway...in a cup.

My DH was great about everything from the moment we were referred to the RE. He was on board with whatever we needed to do to get pregnant and in comparison to the tests and blood work I had to have done regularly doing a SA was so nothing in comparison. He really had it easy.

I think it just takes some men longer to come around but your DH will. Good luck with everything!!

My DH produced all of his samples at home, except for IVF, and he was great about it. FM me if you want to know what worked for DH .

IVF and IUI - he was fine with. But this last SA was compromised, and a visit to the urologist was suggested. He wants no part of that. So stubborn.

My DH never complained about giving a sample. He did most at home but has done some in the office as well. It's all part of the baby making process!

my DH has had a few samples already, all done at home. he hasn't complained about anything. he just hopes we both 'work ok' and that there is nothing wrong.
