Anyone else become an insomniac?

I don't know what is going on... I'm more tired than ever and I can not sleep for the life of me. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I haven't slept well in days-and I think it shoud've started to catch up on me by nowChat Icon
My 5 year old niece even told me how tired and sad I look. Chat Icon

I don't know- is this like a grieving process? It doesn't make sense... I'm sorry if I'm starting to get annoying Chat Icon Out of nowhere I feel like everything has to be done yesterday.... things in my house, things in my business, planning all sorts of different things in our lives... I don't know why it's happening or where it came from. Chat Icon Chat Icon I keep making lists b/c I'm too tired to physcially do much of anything- although now I've been on the computer for hours trying to update my catalog and photographs of my work, and update my business plan, etc... and before that I forced myself to clean my house for like an hour or so.... why is none of this making me tired enough to sleep??Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Is anyone else awake?Chat Icon

Yes to everything you said. Seriously, I'm in the midst of everything you mentioned...the insomnia, lack of concentration, etc. You are definitely grieving a loss. A loss of what could have been. Depression (although probably not chronic) has set in and you just have to ride it out. Feel what you are going to feel and little by little, you will start to feel better. It may take awhile, but you will start to feel better.Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Please don't ever think there's anything wrong with you. Everyone is different in how they handle things and how long they take to heal.

Re: Anyone else become an insomniac?

I'm sorry that you're all dealing with all of this...

most people don't understand how devastating a bfn/low beta can really be.

I used to take some time to grieve what could have been and then try to pick myself up and try again.

one good thing is that you guys are aware of it - with one of mine I was so bad that DH actually sent me away to try and get my head back together.

its hard now but you will find the strength to try again Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: Anyone else become an insomniac?

Yeah that is what happens. I started to think of all the things I couldn't do if I were pg, what projects weren't done etc.... I think after my first failed IVF I built my 3 closet organizers. I guess the garage will now get organized since i got delayed a month.

For some reason I cannot concentrate on work. This has been going on for months.

It really does take time and I hate to say this cliche but "time does heal everything".

Glad you are back.

Re: Anyone else become an insomniac?

Wow funny you mention this because this has been happening to me lately as well....

No matter how much I tell myself things are going to be okay, etc. my body will just not let me rest and get some sleep. You would think after all of this I would welcome sleep! Why does this happen I have no idea.

Take care of yourself and rest as much as possible. Chat Icon Your niece is very observant and she sounds cute. Take it easy, use your awake time and energy to do as many fun things as possible. Chat Icon Chat Icon

I've been feeling like this lately too. I've been having a hard time falling asleep...too many IF related thoughts going through my head.

You are totally not alone. I have been to therapy and even on medication at one point to help me cope with the stress of infertility and my chemical pregnancies. Do whatever you need to do for yourself right now to get relief.

Re: Anyone else become an insomniac?

Shannon, it happens, especially because of what you are going through. After the last loss I couldn't sleep at all, the RE told me I could take tylenol PM to help me sleep some.

Re: Anyone else become an insomniac?

Its definitely the loss...with my losses either I can't sleep or I sleep for hours on end. I couldn't focus one bit at work on Friday and my stomach was so sick that I left.

Wow, I love this. So true.

Shannon, you are completely normal. You need time. This will pass and you'll be back to normal before you know it.

I had problems sleeping. Same as you, my mind would race. The only thing that helps me, xanax! It's terrible but, I'm serious. I tried everything else. I'm not saying you should do this but, it's normal. FYI, the worst thing you can do is be on the computer right before you go to bed. I read somewhere that the lights from the monitor affect your ability to fall asleep. You need at least 1/2 hour between computer time and bed time.
