Those of you who have used suppositories.
I am actually embarassed to ask this but I am in enough pain at this point that I have no choice- don't know if anyone's even up anymore but I am hoping someone will know otherwise I'll be calling the dr in the morning.
Is there anything I can use to relieve the dryness? It's to the point now when I use the bathroom it burns like you wouldn't believe and on my liner it's actually red I guess from it being irritated enough just from wiping. Sorry again for the TMI. TIA!

Nope...I get it every time...almost feels like a UTI or yeast infection. I don't think there is anything you can do about it. Unless the Dr. okays using a lube or something. I just grin and bear it....

Thanks Gerty. I almost FMd you but wasn't sure if you were on... I've been dealing with it- I just feel like it's getting worse yesterday and today. Tonight was the first time I literally jumped because the burning was so bad. Tomorrow (today now) is a week that I'm on them and it's the first time it's THAT bad that I had to ask about it to make sure it wasn't something else... Grin and bear it it is then! Thanks again!

Re: Those of you who have used suppositories.
The worst is when it gets really itchy and dry and you want to scrub your privates off....

I also think wearing a liner for such a long period of time doesnt help.

I'm not even on the suppositories, I'm on endometrin, and even that burns

OMG - I am so itchy and dry and burning that I rip myself apart and it's driving me absolutely INSANE!
I did ask my OB/GYN at my last visit and he did say that even though I'm pg I could use one of the anti-itch creams. I started using vagisil maximum strength and it burned me so bad I almost jumped out of my skin. I am on a quest for something to help...it is awful!!

what kind are they? when I was on them I had so much "leakage" I was the total opposite from dry. I had the hard-cream type ones that look like little bullets.

You know I don't even think it says but they're what I'll call a whitish powder inside a capsule. I HATE them!!!!!!!!!!

Is there any way that you can switch? I hated them too, but I never had the problems you are talking about. Mine were compounded at the pharmacist and I had to keep them in the fridge.

Re: Those of you who have used suppositories.
Can't they give you PIO? I never took suppositories this cycle. I was also told there are different mediums they suspend the meds in so maybe call the pharmacist and see if they have another liquid

Shannon, which ones are you on? I'm assuming we're on the same ones. I have a lot of "leakage".

I'll have to go check the name. Mine are from schraft's so I doubt they're the same- I'm pretty sure they're powder and not hard cream though.
ETA- I think it may be worse from the panty liner also- I slept w/o one last night and washed and am feeling much better (though not great) but I think I'll be able to deal w/ them..... thanks ladies!

I think it depends on the practice you go to. LI IVF does shots for three days after ER and then suppositories.

Maybe in the ocean, but I wouldn't go in a pool...there is too much leakage and I would feel really bad contaminating a pool with progesterone!

Re: Those of you who have used suppositories.
So-no one has heard that you can't go swimming in a pool then. See the problem is we weren't planning on this next cycle and it is falling right before we go to Mexico in a few weeks. Where we are going it is going to be scorching hot, so not going in a pool on vacation would be horrible.
Can the RE can me more PIO than the normal shot I would be taking?

Can you switch back to PIO's? I found them to be pretty easy once I got used to them and never had the discomfort of the suppository

I was told absolutely no swimming or tubs (nothing below the waist) during my 2ww---- after that I'm guessing it's ok... not sure though.

I probably could ask them but it's much better today... yesterday was awful though so we'll see if this becomes a pattern.
