Re: Those PG with Baby #2...

OH BOY, thank God someone posted this...my DS is going to be 10 when my baby is born, its been him and i alone for so many years, and doctors told us id probably have such a hard time getting prego, that i just never worried about it...i feel like HES nervous things are gonna change..hes so used to asking me for things ONCE, and having me take him where he needs to be whenever he wants..sitting at EVERY game..i wont be able to do all of that with a newborn :( it makes me so sad...another poster said she sometimes forgets shes even prego sometimes...i feel like that too!! And i just feel like how could i possibly love someone as much as i love this little boy whos been with me for ten years!
Its gonna be wierd, but im so glad this is normal...long road ahead lol

Re: Those PG with Baby #2...

My DD was 7 1/2 when my 2nd DD was born. I thought for sure no other child could compare. It was only her and I for over 7 years....KWIM? But the saying is so true. Love multiplies not divides.

Then I had my third, she was only 10 months younger than my 2nd. I never thought for a second that I was taking anything away from my 10 month old. I already knew that I was going to love all my girls the same and they all were going to get everything they needed.

IMO going from 1 to 2 children is a little different then going from 2 to 3.

I felt this way when pregnant with #2...and I'm not going to lie, the first few weeks after he was born were not easy. DS1 didn't know what to make of it and I felt like I had messed everything up.

Fast forward two and a half years later...they play together every day and have so much fun. DS2 was the best gift I ever gave DS1. Seeing the love they have for each other is amazing.

Totally normal and you may also feel this way after the baby is born, which again is totally normal. In the beginning og my pregnancy I was excited and sad. I also was so sick and couldn't do the things I wanted to with DS. Then when I brought DD home, I missed the independence I had with DS and also our one on one time. You will eventually get into some sort of routine and the first child adjusts pretty quickly!

I'm more worried about how my son is going to handle it. I'm very excited, just nervous about his reaction to his sibling.

I feel that way too! I keep thinking of this summer as our "last" summer together of just me and DC. I think its really normal and just our mind trying to wrap itself around loving another person as much as we love this one. Very normal if you ask meChat Icon

I am so relieved to see that this is "normal". I definitely feel the same way. DH and I keep saying that regardless of the big belly, sleepless nights and other pregnancy "symptoms" that I have had, we often forget that I am pregnant. It is so scary!
