Re: Just got all my IVF meds and....
Yeah, glad you found the little syringe. It's very easy and its the same needle size as the gonal-f pen (which I loved too).
The large syringe is for two other drugs and your trigger too I guess (OK that does make 3).
Menopur (subQ - so you mix (draw up) with large needle attached and then change to small needle to inject) and progesterone (IM - I had mentioned that I was given 18g needle for mixing (I think its slightly wider and easier to draw up the oil), which meant I had to take off 22 g needle attached to lg syringe draw it up and then change back to 22g needle). Do you have 18g needle in your box. I know it takes a while to figure out what goes with what etc... I think if you don't have 18g needles, I think you had extra 22g needles you can change to. But, you have time until you need to worry about the progesterone shots.
Not sure if your trigger is subQ or intramuscular (IM). My trigger was prefilled and subq and made it easier.
And I'll confess, DH could not do the POI shots and I hired a nurse to come and do it for $20 a night.

Excuse my ignorance, but what are PIO shots?
And according to my list, I don't see an HCG listed - unless it's listed as something else...

Re: Just got all my IVF meds and....
PIO are the Progesterone In Oil shots (the first thing you listed) I 'think' but don't quote me on it as I could be totally wrong) novarel is your HCG- but not positive- I was just looking a couple of your meds up for you and came across that.
ETA: Can't remember if I wrote it in my OP but I was told that none of my meds needed to be refridgerated either according to schrafts- but when I asked my nurse she said some of them should go on the door of the fridge since it's been so warm lately. HTH!

Re: Just got all my IVF meds and....
Sorry - I know you are new to this. POI =progesterone in oil. Maybe you have suppositories instead. Do you know?
I refer to HCG as your trigger, which is the brand Novarel, which you listed. I've seen these done by the small (subQ) and large needles (IM). So, you need to find out from your annoying nurse. Though you have time on that too. They will tell you what you do next. Probably why the nurse is not telling you too much right now. But, you do need to make sure you have everything. I'm sure she does this a million times in a week, but she needs to be patient with the patient.

Re: Just got all my IVF meds and....
Just try to relax and take one step at a time. Look at your calendar and try to organize the meds.
You don't have to keep any in the fridge but do be careful where you keep them. I had mine in my closet until we had that heatwave and I realized we have no ac in our closet and it was really warm in there!
It also might help to put labels on the needles so that way you remember what they are for. Such as mixing needles, menopur injection, PIO injection.
Good luck!

I agree about labelling the needles. I put them in freezer storage and labled on the bag what it was for.

Re: Just got all my IVF meds and....
I was on the EXACT same protocol as you. Just wanted to let you know that Menopur is a pain in arse! It is easy to mix with the Qcaps but it was hard to withdraw. WE ended up using needles to mix and withdraw the menopur. GL!

Also, the medrol taste Horrible! I always had juice ready to chase it down afterwards. I actually threw up twice from taking it.

Ugh, I hated the Medrol. I never got sick, but the aftertaste is awful
