My Dad doesn't think I should tell my sister...
until after her baby shower at the end of June. He thinks she will think I am going to steal her thunder.
I am soo upset he said this.

if it were me, i would want to know!! but i would hold off on telling everyone else until after the shower just so you know she will stay the center of attention.

I agree. I think that your sister will want to know but you don't have to make your formal announcement to the rest of your family until after her shower.

I would def not make a big deal about it at the shower. I wouldn't even mention it at all. I just really want my sister to know. She told me the second she got her BFP.

Do you want to just tell your sister before her shower or do you also want to tell the other people who would be there? I was 10 weeks pregnant at DH's sister's shower. Only our parents knew. We told his sister the next day. She said she would not have minded if I told her and everyone else before her shower but I am still glad we waited. Every family is so different though. I was once at a shower where a close friend put a note in her card saying she was pregnant. When the guest of honor opened the gift, she got the note and announced it to everyone. It was really sweet and I did not think it took away from the day at all.

I would defintely tell your sister, but not at her shower. After my long bout with infertility my sister announced at my shower that she was PG and although I was very happy for her I wished she would have told me beforehand and told the family at another time as well, but that is JMO

I think it all depends on your sister.. You know her. Is she the type to be upset? Some people can get very upset and feel like your stealing their thunder.

I agree-- it totally depends on your relationship with her and her personality.
I personally am not sharing my news until I have one or two sonograms-- and that's probably only with our parents. We'll probably tell our siblings closer to the end of the first tri. But then again, I don't have a sister-- if I did, she would probably know before my mom.

ITA! It's very early to make an announcement to everyone else but privately between you and your sister is fine.

First off, congratulations!!!! I am sooo happy for you 
Second, my sister in law's pregnancy was a HUGE surprise to everyone....she was due less than three weeks after me....I was sooo happy to be pregnant with her..I am sure your sister will feel the same!
