How Much Will Pregnancy Cost?
Anyone know how much will a pregnancy cost with insurance? That includes OB/GYN and delivery costs.
For those that already delivered before, did you have to pay for any out of pocket expenses?

I paid my $18 co pay that took care of all visits to my OB. I then had to pay my $18 copay for every blood test and U/S. The only thing that was expensive was my prenatal vitamins.. $60 every 3 months. The only delivery costs I had to pay was for the single room at Winthrop... everything else was covered!

Have you checked with your health insurance carrier? They would be able to give you a breakdown of what you may/may not owe out of pocket.

Thus far I paid once to my midwife's office $45. That covers my initial co pay and she has a "medical supply fee" that isn't "covered" by insurance.
$0 for all sonos thus far (I've had 5).
$0 for all bloodword/testing.
And a $350 deductible for the hospital stay.

I don't have to pay any co pays at the dr's office, only if its an emergency appt...so everything is covered, including sono's, blood work etc
Just paying towards the hosptial bill

All I had to pay throughout my entire pg was the copay the 1st visit I went to my OB, which was $25. We switched insurance halfway through otherwise I would have had to pay $500 for the hospital stay as well. All of the sonos and blood tests were covered, but my Dr's office said that sometimes insurance will not cover the ultrascreen and AFP.

Everything is covered, including sono's, blood work, delivery, etc...For my prenatals I have a co-pay and the only out of pocket expense I'll really have is if I go with a private room which I plan on doing.

It totally depends on your coverage. With DS#1, I had OOP expenses of about $2K (because portions they only paid 80%, and I had to pay 20% co-insurance). I have new insurance now, and with DS#2, I shouldn't have much at all, just copays.

i had to pay $18 copay at my first visit to the OB, but all of my other visits (except for emergencies) are free. i pay an $18 copay to the lab every time they send out for bloodwork.
i am pretty sure i have a hospital deductible but i have no clue what that is.
