His reaction was a big smile on his face. He was concerned for me, because I was in the emergency room for an asthma attack...but so happy to find out that we were pregnant..

Re: What Was Your DH's reaction to the BFP?

We were both shocked because we had been seeing an RE for 3 months and never expected that it would happen when it did because we had just had an appt. where we were discussing what our next step was going to be. But then I ovulated on my on that cycle and then the first time we really "tried" it worked and I got my BFP!! We were both overyjoyed but as he was looking at my test he kept asking if I was sure it was positive because the line was so light. We both jumped online, I posted on LiFamilies, and discovered......a line is a line!! Needless to say he was thrilled, I was thrilled and we hugged and kissed and of course told our parents that night!! We couldn't keep it a secret!!! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: What Was Your DH's reaction to the BFP?

As we get closer to our due date he's been reminiscing on when I told him, where he was, and what he was doing. He was standing in the garage door that enters into our house dressed in his yardwork clothes sweating up a storm and I was standing in the doorway and I said "I think I'm PG! I took a test and it has a faint line." He smiled and asked if I was sure. I said I don't know, but I'm going to get more tests right now! After taking 2 more tests I still didn't believe it. So I called the doctors office and they confirmed that I was PG but said they wouldn't know if it was a viable PG until they saw a HB. I told my DH what the doctor said and his face turned bright red, he smiled, and started to shake. He was so happy and scared to death at the same time. Not much has changed.Chat Icon

Re: What Was Your DH's reaction to the BFP?

DH and I had been trying for 5 months to get PG and I totally didn't think it was our month...but DH was sure that it was. I had a m/c 3 months prior, so I thought that it wasn't gonna happen for me. Anyway, my mom came up for a visit from Georgia for 10 long and torturous days [I don't really get along with my mom] in which she stayed at our house. Chat Icon About a 1/2 hour before she was to go to the airport, I decided to POAS. Not sure why I picked that day, as I was only 12DPO. So, I did it and within a few seconds came my very visible line! Chat Icon

My mom and everyone was downstairs and I yelled to DH to come upstairs to help me with something. As soon as he got into our room I just held the stick out to him and didn't say a word. He then said, "No way! Are you sure?" I said, "Look at the lines!" Then he said, "I knew it! I love you baby." We made out and then happily went down stairs to say goodbye to my mom.

For #2...I was crying (I just had #1 less than 4 months earlier) and he asked if I had been fired. I said no I think I'm pregnant and he started to laugh and got really happy, which just made me cry more-I was happy, sad, a hormonal mess!!

My DH was playing mario cart on his Wii, when I came out of the bathroom crying, holding the pee stick in my shaking hand. He laughed because I was shaking so bad, then hugged and kissed me....then went right back to playing his Wii, while I paced the floor! Chat Icon Chat Icon

Men have a funny way of showing their excitement...
