does anyone on here ever think about..

the chance that people you know are reading the things you write? i worry about this and often hold back from responding to certain posts because of it. anyone else worry about posting personal information? maybe im looking too much into it.

Yes, which is why I only post what I don't mind everyone and their mother seeing!

ETA: I know for a fact there are tons of people I know IRL that lurk here, and a lot that post here too.

I constantly think about this! I am especially careful with any posts about my family, friends, and work -- only good posts about those topics

People I know do read this site. Co-worker, family, & friends.

I'm not worried about it. I think if you put anything in writing (pariticularly electronic forms of communication) these days, you need to be prepared that it could become public knowledge.

I only post things that I have no problem someone else knowing. I never vent about family members or friends, or talk about extremely personal stuff. My friends, family, and coworkers are on here so I know they read it all.

I did post something personal recently that was meant to help others, and I would hope that my coworker would not spread that around. But if she did, oh well, too late now!

Oh yes. I posted here about my pregnancy the day after I found it, since it was too early to tell my friends. Turns out, my friend found out I was pregnant from here. What can you do.

But I wouldn't post anything that I don't want to make public information- at some point.

I think about it from time to time but I dont dwell on it...I have a lurker or 2 that I know about. Ive told many people about the site.

I always watch what I write and I also mainly post on the parenting board.

If I never had posted any pictures and never told anyone I was on here then I think I wouldn't care as much.

I think about it all the time - which is why i try to never post personal info - if I have something to add based on personal experience I always take it to FM.

Not really. I know that family members lurk, but I've never written anything that was untrue, so it's not like they can get mad.

I think about this all the time.. I especially think about my future children's ability to "look me up" on this site one day, so I try not to post anything TOO racy!

Though I also think it would be cool if a site like this existed 30 years ago and I could look up posts my mom made about trying to "create" me
