Re: Ladies... Does it bother you when...
Not at all. If you are married, the "proper" way to address something to you (as long as you have your husband's last name) is "Mrs. John Doe." If a woman is divorced, then the proper way is "Mrs. Jane Doe." I don't care either way, but I kinda like seeing "Mrs. (DH's name)."

Re: Ladies... Does it bother you when...
That wouldn't bother me. I do think it is old fashioned, but it wouldn't bother me.
What DOES bother me is when people who know me, send me cards and letters to Juliet DH's last name.
I hyphenated so I either want my maiden name or both names, but NOT just DH's name. That person doesn't exist.
Even worse was when some of DH's relatives from Poland sent things to Julia Fxxxxxxxski. That is not only not me, but it is actually DH's niece

oh I HATE it....
I never changed my name, and I have a PhD. Both my family and DH's send me cards labeled Mrs. John Smith instead of Dr. Jane Doe
I told DH (who is in grad school and is about to get the exact same degree that I have) that the sh!t will hit the fan after his graduation if they begin addressing cards Dr. and Mrs. John Smith....
I give it a 50/50 chance they'll pull that.... 'oh honey, isn't it great? you're a Dr. and a Mrs!
I never use Dr. in any personal correspondence, and am not at all offended when people don't address things Dr (especially my family). I use it for work purposes and mail related to work, but would never use it for Christmas cards, wedding responses, etc.
I took DH's last name, and do think it's overly formal/traditional to say Mrs. his name, but I don't lose sleep over it.

So a woman is "Mrs." forever after the wedding, even if divorced? I never knew that.

Re: Ladies... Does it bother you when...
HUGE pet peeve of me. I REFUSE to be called Mrs. DH's firstname and lastname. I have a name and want people to address me with MY names.
I know it's the "polite" way to do it but I think times have changed and that needs to be changed too.
I NEVER address anyone by this. Even on my wedding invitation. I did Mr and Mrs... last name or I would do Man's firstname, Woman's first name and their lastname.

Re: Ladies... Does it bother you when...
it kind of irritates me.....if its ONLY sent to me, there's no reason not to use my first name IMO.
