if i had no debt, i would probably invest the $10,000.
if it was $20,000 (still no debt) i would probably spend a little (maybe a short vacation) and invest the rest.

Well, my first instinct was pay student loans... but if I took those out of the equation it would go into our house/savings account.
If it was $20k, I would spend $5-6k on a trip to the UK, then the rest would be put in savings.

put it away in a CD for a DP on a house!!
same answer if it was 20 grand.
that is our number one priority right now - save, save, save!! then - finding and buying a place to live within the next 1-2 years. well, number one aside from doing the very best we can in school, of course... grades are always #1

I would spend it on house stuff and stuff for the kids.
My DH would want to save it.
