I did, although we didn't use it for too long, it was a great support when we taking DS home from the hospital...he was still swimming in that car seat.

I think it's OK to use the support if it comes with the carseat, but you're not supposed to use after-market brands. I believe if it comes with the carseat it has been safetly tested with the carseat, so it is OK.

If it comes with the seat it should be fine as that is how the safety/crash testing was done. You cant be sure of the safety if it is manufactured by another complany even if it says that it passed safety tests. Its meaningless unless it was tested with that particular seat. As far as the airway, if the seat is properly installed at the right angle it should not cause breathing problems but I guess better safe than sorry.

I got the version of the Graco Snugride that happens to come with one. When it comes with the seat, you know its been tested and meets all safety standards. I took an infant CPR/safety class at our hospital and they suggested you only use one that comes with it, others may cause more harm to the baby in an accident.

I did not register for this, but a good friend gave it to me as a gift in the hospital when I had the baby. So glad that I had it to bring her home in. I used it for a while and it was terrific. I highly recommend it!

The NICU definitely did not let me use the one that came with the seat (SnugRide). I followed their instructions b/c they did not steer me wrong in any of their advice. It may have been an unnecessary precaution but we never used the one that came with the carseat.
