Depends when you want to go-- but if you are going for your anniversary- Bermuda will be too cold.
I would do caribbean.

Bermuda might not be good then. I know it is still cool when it is cool her. They are only right off the Carolinas. We wanted to go in Feb. but my travel agent said no.

Cruises are expensive, but they are all inclusive. I would look on the travel sites-- esp. TravelZoo and then SmarterLiving.com-- they have what they call distressed inventory and you can get really great deals.. For two people I would probably expect to spend a couple thousand.. plus your flight.

Re: Cruise Q : Destination??
If you've never cruised, I'd say caribbean
Bermuda will be too cold, and I know you guys like a nightlife, right? Bermuda's a little quiet at night.
Bahamas...eh.
Actually, I'm looking into taking a 5day Royal Caribbean out of FL again - it goes to Cozumel, Belize, and Key West. I LOVED that cruise! Belize was the BEST snorkling I've ever done (and I was a spoiled child that went EVERYWHERE when I was young!), Cozumel has great excursions (Go on the Jolly Roger! ), and I just LOOOOOVE Key West.
I'm so excited for you!
eta: You could probably fly to FL and take the cruise for under $1K/pp. Keep in mind that there are REQUIRED tips on board when you leave (the last day). I think you can arrange to put it on a CC ahead of time, but it used to be CASH ONLY.

Re: Cruise Q : Destination??
Jess, I am doing the western caribbean in about 3 weeks so I will be sure to let you know how it is. Our particular trip leaves out of Tampa, FL and goes to Belize, Cozumel, Costa Maya and Grand Cayman.

Re: Cruise Q : Destination??
check out this site my family and friends use them - they usually (90%) of the time can beat many other places out with the price -
best price cruises
I would also check out - cruise compete
This is a site where you post what trip you want and then a number of companies will send you quotes - so you can compare prices.
The best site for information in general about cruising is - cruisecritic.com
Etd to add - I have gone once with NCL, 11 cruises with Celebrity, and once with Princess. We love celebrity and princess - let me know if you have any questions. I would recommend the Caribbean Princess - I posted pics on the travel board from that cruise - we loved the boat

Re: Cruise Q : Destination??
I've done eastern, western and southern cruises and I loved the southern cruise the best. I've been on Disney, Carnival and Princess. Next year we're going on a southern cruise on Royal Caribbean.
All destinations are pretty good for nightlife. The western cruise, we stopped in Cozumel and didn't have to get back on the boat until 11 pm, so there was plenty of time to party. Also the southern cruise in Aruba, we didn't have to be on the boat until 12am, so we were out late as well that night. Plus with the southern cruise you have to fly to Puerto Rico and it's so nice there to shop and walk around the town. Plus, there is a hotel across the street from the cruise ships that is always having a huge party.
I never really hit the night clubs on the ships, because DH is not a big dancer, so I don't know how good they are. Maybe next time we go, (we're going with another couple), I can drag him out for some more fun.

great site!! My DH is OBSESSED with it, actually (he tries to get me to post on there, but i dont think i need anymore addictive web sites)- so he does all the posting!
Jess- definitely do some shopping around (like the sites that Randi and lilly gave), and if you know a good Travel Agent, that could help too. We've only been on NCL, but both times, we got Much better rates from our TA than were listed on the NCL web site. Also, both times, we booked a lower grade room, and then got an upsell for Much cheaper than if we had booked if from the beginning (this time, we booked an oceanview, and upgraded to a balcony- it saved us over $400 than if we had just booked the balcony from the beginning. but, imo, you have a better shot at getting an upsell if you're working with a TA- but thats just based on our experiences). There are definitely ways to take an Affordable cruise- it depends on when you go, and what kind of room you stay in. There are many ways to cut corners here and there. Also- there are cruises that leave from NY and NJ, so with those- you can also save on airfare. But, keep in mind what shorty said- they have a set gratuity that is charged per person, per day, that gets charged to your account.
For our HM, the ports for our crusie were Port canaveral (we went to Disney), Miami, Nassau (did some shopping and walking around/ sightseeing) and Freeport (went snorkeling off of Port Lucaya). The islands themselves were OK, but the bulk of our trip was really just enjoying being on the cruise itself. We're going on another one in 12 days (a 10 day cruise that goes to st maarten, st thomas, san juan, tortola, and great stirrup cay)- so i can tell you about those when we get back but we loved the Dawn, so even if the islands are basically the same as the others, we have a great time on the ship (oh, also keep in mind that the excursions can be pricey, but if you look at the web sites for the cruise lines, you can get an idea of how much they cost, and then pick which ones you think you'd want to spend the money on- if any).
hope this helps

Re: Cruise Q : Destination??
TOTALLY forogt to answer the question..lol.. We went to Maine and Canada during the fall.. BUT-- Make sure you research where you are looking to go.. even tho a lot of travel agencies are saying that the carribean and mexico have "recovered" pr begun to recover" fromthe hurricanes this summer.. its B.S.-- sorry to be so blunt.. My mom and dad just came back from a carribean and mexico cruise.. everything they saw was still devastated.. or really really not what it was cracked up to be.. part of one of their tours showed a car in a tree cuz of the flooding..
You had to see their pics.. The GOOD THING tho is that there are soooo many things to do on a cruise that you could always go back to the ship if you hate the port you stop at! HTH
