schadenfreude-my former employers

a little long, but share my joy with me.

oh, I'll admit it.... I experience extreme glee when I heard of their troubles.....

heheheheheheh

I had to speak with the department I once worked in today. While my co-workers are all very friendly people, the administrators were @holes.

while employed there, they insisted on declaring me to the IRS as an 'independent contractor'... which put me in a 40%+ tax bracket, and meant they did not have to contribute towards a portion of my SS payments... Without boring everyone with details, legally, they should have given me a w2. I tried to correct them, and gave them the legal docs proving my point, and like organized criminals they tolde me 'we advise you to pay the extra several grand in taxes.'

Eventually I was audited by the IRS. they asked for proof of my position title from my former employer, and the administrators REFUSED Chat Icon. Can you IMAGINE someone ignoring a direct request from the IRS???!

At any rate, I provided the info to the IRS, and they ruled in my favor.

In comes the schadenfreude. I heard today, that upon closing my audit, they opened one against my former employer.... Chat Icon and discovered a lot of illegal filing of employees as 'independent contractors'. Apparently, becuase of little old me, they are in massive trouble.

Chat Icon oh, vindication feels mighty fine Chat Icon
ALSO, it feels even BETTER knowing a lot of my former co-workers, who were given the shaft by them and paid tons more in taxes than they should have, likely will be getting 50k checks from uncle sam soon....

you're catching on.... pure EVIL, huh? many did have limited health insurance, but definitely greatly reduced benefits....

apparently, the poop really hit the fan when the IRS discovered they fired many 'employees' and then rehired them as 'contractors' in the same post.... apparently, the way they did that was totally illegal.

they were so horrible to the wonderful people who work there... I want to see the adminsitrators crash and burn!
