what are employers looking for???

i'm soooo tired of my job.... very long story... so i won't bore you...

i want to start looking for a new job... here is the situation.

i haven't finished school (which i'm scheduling to get back to jan 08),so... on paper, i don't look so hot. but i know i'm a lot smarter, reliable,... yada, yada than my present job would make me seem that i am.

how can i help myself get out of this dead-end job?

do i need to spend $$ to have someone write my resume for me??

eta: i work in customer service... i want to go to school to be an art teacher. my work history isn't "all that" since i was a sahm for a bit. i'm looking for anything that will use my brain and pays a bit more, so i can pay for school. thanks

I never finished college so I don't look that great on resume either but I was with my old job for 6 years so that looked very good.

I did have someone professional help me with my resume and it helped sooo much.

I ended up landing jobs that paid so much more then before.

I think it is worth it to have someone write or help you with your resume.
